So my LO is sleeping through the night (yay!) but for her it apparently means 6:30-4:45/5am (ugh). Anyone have a LO with a schedule like this? Please tell me it's a phase!

My LO does 5 pm to 5 am every night. She has to get up at 5 am though since she goes to daycare at 6. Hopefully it's just a stage for you!

i've read somewhere that the hours of 4-6am are a light sleeping period for babies so it's easy for them to wake up. my LO sometimes starts crying/fussing around 4am (his wakeup time is 5:30am), but i leave him until wake up time. i can tell he's trying to put himself back to sleep, albeit struggling a bit, and he usually does even if it takes 20 minutes and it's just a light sleep before i go get him.

My son only ever sleeps 10 hours at night. For a long time it was 7-5. Now it's 7:30-5:30. Unfortunately, if I put him down earlier, like 6:30, he's just up for the day at 4:30. Your LO might be the same. He's almost 1 and he's been waking in the 5 a.m. hour since around 5 months old.

We went through a similar rough period - 7:30a to 4/4:30a for months, then the most painful was 7:30 - 5/5:30am!!! At least I could go back to sleep from 4:30 to 7 but with 5:30 I can't! Luckily it only lasted for weeks, then he adjusted and truly slept through the night from 7pm to at least 6am.

We had early wakeups (5or so) for a long, long time with DS. Eventually, at about a year, it got better, and now he sleeps in until around 7 every morning. For us, it was just a waiting game until he grew out of those early morning wakeups.

@edelweiss: @irene: @Honeybee: Glad to hear it is hopefully a phase for us too! It feels crazy putting her down for nap #1 around 7:30am.

@autumn865: okkk so i researched the heck out of this as my LO was having these early wakings too. Is she waking up happy or upset? If happy and ready to go, I heard that means it is time to up her awake time during the day. If waking up upset, it could mean she is overtired (does she nap well?). Also, LO was practicing rolling from belly to front and that really affected her sleep. She mastered it a few days ago and is now back to sleeping in to a normal hour (6:30ish, yay! ahah) So I am guessing it is just a phase and will soon pass! Ours lasted 2 weeks I think??

we've been going through this the last week or so-- sometimes he hits 6am, but usually it's been 5 or 530am (sleeps at 7)... we're hoping it's a phase, but i nurse him in bed when he wakes up and we wake up for the day around 7 or 8
