AF is late, think it's due to the fact that I've never had regular periods after coming off bcp... or could be because of a very stressful few weeks of work....
I know you aren't supposed to do this but I'm dumb so I did it anyway... took a test last night and it was negative (this is a relief to me). Took a test tonight and it was negative (it was a 2-pack, just wanted to be sure! 
) Then I took a peak at the older test that was in the trash, and cue a lot of cursing and a faded 2nd blue line. It's a clearblue test, and the second line definitely has some blue color. Since it's after the 10 minute limit (by a day), this is probably a false positive, right? Anyone with experience please chime in or I'm off the buy more expensive early tests!

It sounds like a false positive/evap is most likely the case, but stranger things have happened! I'm the type of person who will obsess until I test again. So if it were me I'd go get an FRER or other pink dye since blue dye is known to be unreliable.

Thanks for responding! Why do they even make them with blue dye?? That seems a little ridiculous, am I right? Ok off to the store!

My experience has only been with pink dye tests, but with my LO, I took a test at 13 DPO and it was negative. I looked at it again a few hours later (dug it out of the trash) and saw a super faint line. I was sure it was an evap line and didn't think anything of it until the next night when some google research told me that an evap line would not have any colour. I took a test the next morning, 15 DPO, and it was the world's faintest positive. Nearly two years later, I'm currently cuddling my 15 month old.
Now, all that being said, blue dye tests are notorious for false positives, so I'd fork out the extra money and go buy a pink dye test ASAP! Good luck for whatever result you're hoping for!

@oceanbee59: my cycle was wonky after coming off the pill, my period was "late", took a test, it was negative, a week later no AF & BFP! I was using the blue tests and switched to pink dye. The blue ones suck.

I got four false positives from one pack of CVS blue dye tests. Stupid blue dye!
