We're gearing up for sleep training and it's finally time for us to buy a monitor. Which do you recommend, the Summer Infant or the Motorola digital video monitor?

We had the Summer Infant Day to Night (The version we have has been discontinued) and it just does NOT compare to the Motorola!!! We were planning on using our old monitor for #2 but we got the Motorola as a gift and it is AMAZING.

My friend had the Summer Infant and hated it. She ended up getting a Motorola and I think she likes it better now.

We have the Motorola one and it's great. The only complaint I have is that their customer service is terrible. A few weeks ago my AC adapter broke (the wires split where the cord meets the plug) and it took me 3 phone calls to finally get them to issue me a replacement & I still haven't received it yet. I fortunately was able to buy a universal adapter on Amazon because otherwise I would have been screwed.

Love our Motorola! We bought ours from buy buy baby, but after 4 months, the sound just stopped working. They let me bring it in, no questions asked and gave me a new one. Best part about it was that our old Motorola monitor didn't have the option to mute (which was my only complaint before) but they must have come out with a new model because this one mutes! Absolutely no complaints now

I have the Summer Infant touch screen one and we love it, we have had no issues with it. We were goign to get the Motorola but got a 20% off in the mail from Target and couldn't pass it up. No regrets here!

I have the summer infant touch screen video monitor (we live in a duplex and my 90 year old grandmother lives on the other side so we use it to make sure she hasn't fallen in the night) and it's great. The quality really impresses me and we will definitely be keeping it and using it when we buy our first home and set up the nursery!

I love, love our Motorola video monitor. I wish we would have bought it months ago. So worth it. In the short time we've had it, I've noticed a pattern to LO's wakeups where he rubs his eyes and rolls about before getting vocal.

@wheres_c: is it possible to return it? I didn't even realize they had added the mute feature until I returned mine but I was sooooo happy it broke the 1st time! ha!

We really like our Motorola. Older family members are always impressed with all the things it can do lol We also got the two camera one which at times is excessive but funny to change the angle we can see DD.

I like our Motorola and really like it. I never had a SI, the last one we had was a Levana and it wasn't very good.

Thanks for all the replies! The Motorola MBP36 is about the same price as the Summer Infant Baby Touch on AmazonUK. I was leaning towards the SI, but you all convinced me to get Motorola instead!

@Crumbs: Definitely the Summer Infant monitor. We have the Baby Touch and it is awesome. We monitor both of our children with it and it conveniently scans between their rooms.
