Any suggestions for AC places? I was going to suggest Virginia Highlands splash pad..

@LittleK: We were just there this afternoon! If a/c isn't a must that's not a bad idea because there's a lot of shade.

Another suggestion without AC, has anyone been to Clemyjontri Park in Mclean?

My BIL lives in Annapolis, so depending on when it is we might be able to visit them for the weekend and pop out for a while!

@LittleK: My LO had a blast. It's nice because there is a little shaded playground next to the splash pad, so she just ran back and forth between the playground and the water. There are also tons of benches and a couple small picnic tables (not shaded) for adults to sit down. And it wasn't terribly crowded.
@Beaker: We have been once. Not sure how it would be for a meetup since it's so big. It was also really busy/crowded when we went. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has been there before and what they think.

I'd love to be in! But after my stepkids leave in late July would be easier logistically.

Damn, I wish I didn't live in California! This sounds like fun.

i'm in!
some other ideas are kid junction in chantilly or the building museum in dc! the only thing is they both have entrance fees...
@beaker: we love clemyjontri but there is no shade and it gets really hot! we once did a small meet-up at meadow lane park in vienna -- lots of shade there!
the other sprayground we love is at the lee district rec center in alexandria.

@Mrs. Cowgirl: kid junction looks so cool! After your summer bucket list blog post I bow down to you as the expert on fun kid places in the metro region!

@Pancakes: @Mrs. Cowgirl: I need to go check it out on a weekday... There's Watkins park but that may be too deep in MD for most people.
I've heard that the Children's Museum at National Harbor is pretty terrible, unfortunately...

@beaker: yeah, it's baaaaad. so overpriced and not much to do. port discovery in baltimore is literally a million times better! definitely worth the trip out there!

I would be interested!
@dc yoga bee: I don't have kids either
blogger / nectarine / 2687 posts
@dc yoga bee: you should come out any way, if you're okay with being around lots of littles!

I'm in! I live a little far out, but I would definitely come if it was on a Saturday where we don't have plans.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE KIDS TO COME. You just have to like them.
I really like the idea of a spray ground.

@sotofamilia: in Upper Marlboro.. it has a carousel & train! I haven't taken the kids yet but went a lot when I was younger.
blogger / pomegranate / 3044 posts
@theotherstark: @dc yoga bee: I'm all for getting together without kiddos for a change if people are up for that too!

Depending on when, I may be in! DH and I were just talking about how we want to take a weekend trip to DC

@beaker: thanks! That's the other side of where I am, but it looks cool!

@beaker: Watkins is super convenient for me!
I've never been in town for one of these, but I'm willing to try again!

Can we pick up steam on this again? Especially now that it's cooled down some?
