Does anyone take surprise trips? I'm surprising DH with 2 trips early next year and I am so freaking excited! I doubt I will be able to keep them a secret though. For his 28th Birthday I surprised him with a trip to Minnesota to watch his football team and baseball team and I accidentally told him like a week before his birthday 
Does anyone else do this? My husband actually told me he hates surprises but I love them too much to stop!

My husband and I like to travel a lot but the only surprise trip we ever took was when we got engaged and he surprised me! I don't foresee any trips in our future with a baby due soon but I'd love to take him down to FL to see his college friends... maybe in the summer! How do you get away with booking all this without him knowing?

Thats soooo awesome!! I'm the WORST secret keeper ever! I can't hide anything from DH so I'm sure this wouldn't work for me at all. Plus I have no idea how I would pay for it without him finding out! We are both very involved in our budget and spending.

@Lone Palm: I am taking him to LA/DIsneyland for Superbowl. His family lives there so it will be a big surprise to him since he knows I kind of hate his family. BUt I would never keep him from his family. ANyways. And then we are going to Sedona, AZ like a month later to surprise his mom for her birthday. A surprise within a surprise! And we have seperate bank accounts so he would never know. And with my anxiety I can't fly so we drive!

@MrsBrewer: Ya the surprise part is always hard. I usually tell him for like a month I have a huge surprise then somehow he gets it out of me. I am determined to keep it from him this time!

@anonysquire: Ahh that makes sense - My husband and I share an account but I do have a credit card that he can only see the balance of but not actual transactions. That's usually how I handle xmas, anniversary and birthday gifts without him knowing exactly what I bought. He might notice if I put a whole trip on there though! haha. Still I'm totally looking into this! I'd love to surprise him with a trip.
I hope you guys have tons of fun and try to keep it a secret! He is one lucky guy!

I would love to do something like that for DH, but I'm absolutely horrible at keeping secrets... (I already told him what his Christmas present is )
My best friend planned a surprised trip to Vegas for her husband one year. He had no idea what they were doing until they were pulling into the airport. So neat!

@Lone Palm: It really is the best thing to see his face when I tell him his surprises. Even though he claims to hate surprises he still gets awfully giddy. It really is way fun! Even if you can just do a weekend trip it is so worth it!!!

@BabyBoecksMom: Lol see I always ruin Christmas. My parents surprised us when we were tiny with a trip to Disneyland and it was the best thing I have ever remembered. We pulled up to the airport and we were going crazy. So fun!

So fun! I love surprise trips 
I surprised my DH with a trip once--I bought tickets to a James Taylor and Carol King concert at Tanglewood (outdoor concert venue in Mass.) and we camped out for a few nights nearby. He loved it! And last Christmas my mom got me and DH (who was then my fiance) a gift certificate to a bed and breakfast in Easthampton. SUCH a great surprise!
Trips are awesome presents, I'm sure your husband is going to be thrilled, even if he hates surprises

My husband surprised me once and I was truly shocked, usually he does exactly what you do @anonysquire-- he tells me he has a surprise and then eventually spills the beans or gives a hint that totally ruins it. The trick when he pulled it off was that he had a second surprise and he used that one to drop hints about, I don't think that was his plan but it worked because I figured out the second surprise and never even thought about the trip!

@MrsSCB: Oh he would die if I took him to a surprise concert! That's a great idea. I am sure once I surprise him, he will forget that he hates surprises!
@rahlyrah: Well luckily he now works for my dad so I could wrangle a few days off if I wanted to. But luckily my dad gives his employees extra days off during some weeks so I just make it work with the weekends and extra days. Even if the trip is 5 days it is still worth it to me

@anonysquire: Just pretend the surprise is something else! Just make sure it isn't more exciting than what you have planned (although not much beats out the super bowl, at least for my husband!)

@Cole: Well we are not going to the actual superbowl. I am just taking him to Disneyland and he can watch the superbowl with his football crazed family. I'd stab both lobes of my brain out before going to the real superbowl, I am not that nice lol.
