Looking for some swaddle insight on my 9 weeks old's sleep. Since the beginning, she has fought the swaddle. Whenever she wakes in the night, she fights and fights to get her arms out, sometimes successfully. We've used A+A blankes (regular swaddle and the other swaddle methods on youtube), the double swaddle, miracle blankets, swaddle me's, and now are using halo swaddle sleep sacks. She seems to hate these the least because she can move her feet freely.

Also, at night at least, she falls asleep relatively easily when not swaddled, but takes longer to fall asleep and fights the swaddle when she is in it. We have continued with the swaddle because she flails her arms and startles without it, waking herself up about 30-40 minutes into sleep, and doesn't seem to be able to go a longer stretch. Also, she often wakes up when put down in the PnP if she is not swaddled. That said, her sleep is kind of poor anyway. we usually get one 3-4 hour stretch and night and then all shorter stretches after that, and cat naps during the day.

She's recently found her fists and chews on those a lot. I'm wondering if this is the beginning of self soothing and would be worth going off the swaddle.

Sorry for the novel, I've been meaning to ask this question for a while.

Anyone have an LO with similar swaddle behavior? Any tips or ideas? I can't wait to get her off of it because dealing with it is so aggravating. If we stopped swaddling, would she stop startling after a few nights?
