We still swaddle my 11 week old, although with increasing difficulty. We moved to the halo velcro swaddle and she always manages to get her hands up to her mouth (she's pretty small) - so I have two questions that I would love to hear some advice on as I'm spinning trying to decide what to do with her.

1) Should we drop the swaddle and go to just a sleep sack since she's getting her hands up to her face when she wakes up and often whens she's going down? I'm not sure because when she is unswaddled and lying down, her arms are still flying around in front of her and I"m not sure if this is still Moro reflex or something that will go away once she just gets used to being unrestricted. Any experience here?

2) If we keep the swaddle, does anyone know if it's generally OK to let her fuss/cry for short periods, like 5-10 minutes while swaddled? I'm a believer in learning to self soothe and feel I didn't do it early enough with #1 and lots of the books I read suggest letting them try to go back to sleep on their own after waking 30 min into a nap which is definitely her go to. I just don't know if that's applicable to a baby who is swaddled and can't access their hands if they want to.

thanks!
