I don't think I will ever wear a bikini again! How about you, what kind of swimwear do you rock now?

One pieces with something interesting going on, either a one shoulder style, with ruching, a pattern, etc.
I like the JCrew jersey lomalina suits, I stalk the site when they're on sale.

5 months after having a baby, I needed a new bathing suit and nothing fit/looked nicely on me. I ended up buying a really cute 2-piece (tankini) maternity swimsuit and it is flattering!

@Rubies: What brand did you get/where did you get it? I think we're gonna take a trip to the beach soon. Definitely will not be wearing a bikini!

@chopsuey119: I got it at Motherhood. It's black with white polkadots! Very cute!

No way will I ever be in a bikini again. Now I'm all about a tankini with a skirt. Such a mommy swim suit!

Awww the responses to this thread are making me sad. I was very athletic before the baby and during the pregnancy. We're heading to FL to visit family in June and we'll be spending a lot of time on the beach. Guess I need to start looking into getting a tankini or one piece.

@BabyBoecksMom: Not at all! All my bikinis from pre-pregnancy still fit and look good. I've had to look for some that are cut a little differently though since a couple of the string bottoms are a little too low with my scar.

This is so funny because I was just having this convo with my sister in law. I have SO.MANY bikinis that I doubt I'll ever get into again. Definitely won't be this summer. I was the nut who used to have a new bathing suit for everyday of a vacation. Now I want to find just one bathing suit that will hide, well, every inch of me... still searching....

I'm debating this now too. My pre-pregnancy 2-pieces don't fit right. I've got boobs that weren't there before and my body shape is a bit different. I think I'm going to give it a month to warm up (I always shed a couple pounds in the warm weather being outside more) and then brave the stores. I'm not against two pieces now but I think I need to do a few crunches to get the confidence needed.

Another thing to consider is what kind of suit you need when you're taking your LO into the water. My son loves to pull the straps of mine, so it's important that the coverage is good, because the last thing I need is a boob popping out during swim class!

I had to get a new pair of swimmers at the start of summer for sailing. I usually wear bikinis but there was no way I was going to find one that would fit. The boobs were out of control! I tried on some of my old ones and the tops weren't decent. DH was a fan, as long as I promised not to leave the house!
I bought a one piece, black with little white polka dots ( snap rubies!).
I am hoping that next year I am back wearing bikinis!

I got an awesome black bikini a few years ago. It was the perfect cut for me and very flattering. I still have stretch marks from pregnancy, but I'm holding hope that I'll get my midsection back in shape enough to wear it again. I got an ugly mom-suit after DS was born, since my sister had a destination wedding in FL when I was 6 weeks post partum. I'm sure it would be more flattering now, since I've lost more weight, but I really hate one pieces. I got it at Target on clearance though.
