Is there a specific reason why you're thinking of moving her to a new place? Or, is it just an idea floating around?

I think the transition now might be tough at first but it sounds like you prefer the new place's staff? At her current center, are the kids biting already??? Sad!

Since biting seems to be a big part of the dislike of the current situation, make sure you know what it is at the new place. I have a 15 month old as well. We transitioned her at 12 months to a new daycare. I love the daycare, but we have been dealing with biting for about two months now. Fortunately, I'm currently content with the daycare's response to biting and am comfortable with their handling. Our daughter never really went through separation issues. That being said, her transition was our mild version of "rough" for about 10 days.

@Thehistoryofus: Have you spoken to any of the other parents? I asked for references and spoke to 3 parents before choosing our daycare. Of course they probably won't have you speak with anyone who will say too many negative things, but you never know what might come out over the course of a conversation.

@Thehistoryofus: Then I guess you just have to base it on how they've responded to your questions so far. Did they reply to your list of questions yet? And go with your gut feeling!

I think the staff are everything in a day care. As others have said, biters are everywhere. Now may be a good time to make the switch especially if LO is about to be a toddler and will be entering pre-school there as well in the future. I had to make a similar decision around the same age. Although i loved the staff, I wasn't happy with my day care's facilities, and I toured a new place with much newer facility (both Montessori for profit centers). The director made me wait 30 minutes and did not even apologize. It just left a bad taste in my mouth and made me wonder about the culture of the center (not just the waiting but her general attitude during the tour). I decided that nicer facilities weren't worth it in my case and stayed with the original day care. DD is 4 now and happy in the pre- school and DS is now in the day care and I feel confident in the decision. Good luck with your decision!
