C seemed to tolerate the switch of brands okay (she was on Alimentum in the hospital/nicu and went to nestle goodstart when she came home).
I know some people will do a mix of both formulas, gradually increasing the ratio of the new one to ensure a smooth transition. We just went cold turkey and she seemed to be okay - though she was only a month old.

She didn't handle a switch in the type well though - any time we tried to give her the powder she would get gassy and uncomfortable - so we stuck to the liquid concentrate.

We switched over the course of a week, and just increased the new formula amount every few days and he did fine. And that was going from a low-lactose based formula to regular.

My LO didn't care when I had to switch because the store had run out of her usual brand. She definitely knows the difference between WCM and formula, but I guess not between different formula!

I think transitioning from one brand to another will probably be fine as long as you try to make it gradual and it's the same type (like regular dairy-based, sensitive, etc), but I don't think I'd bother with the different kinds of Enfamil formula you mentioned because those have different compositions.

I would transition to the Target brand from Enfamil but personally I would give away the different "types" of Enfamil, no need to potentially mess with her system with the different components each type has. The savings wouldn't be worth it to me.
