In general The Children's place fits my girls small so I always buy one size up. But I'm wondering if there's a difference between their 4T and 4? For example, I would be buying my 3.5 yo 5T right now. But would 5/6 from the girls section be *too* big?

@regberadaisy: If you look at their size chart, 5T is similar to a 4/5 measurements in big girls sizes. My DD is pretty much on track with the girls sizing and she is average height and weight. I think a 5/6 would be on the big side even though your DD is tall.

Not sure if this is still helpful..I haven't purchased non-T sizes from TCP but from my experience purchasing sz 4 rather than 4T from old navy is that it is just longer length wise but the width is the same. It may or may not apply with TCP.
