I received an email from LOs daycare asking for gift donations for teacher appreciation week. Honestly I'd rather just give LOs teacher a gift directly but now I'm not sure if I should because they asked for donated gifts.
Should I give them something directly? If so what? LO has only been there a few weeks and I basically know zilch about them. Maybe a target gift card? And a few small items?

Are they asking for money towards a group gift or for you to give them gifts for them to distribute?

If the email is from another parent or group of parents, I'd totally just leave it up to them. I'd chip in $.

@looch: it was from the school not the parents. If it were the parents I would go with whatever they want to do.
Now that I'm thinking about it more. Maybe the directors will give the teachers the donated gift and say "from the parents of the X classroom". Hmmm guess I might need to ask...

@MamaJ: I'd clarify, lol. I personally loathe these events so my goal is to do as little as possible while still participating.
