Will you supplement your child's education of world/national history that they learn in school?

I have no idea how they are teaching things now, guess I will learn as LO goes through school, but I remember having an awakening in college because of things I was taught in school vs. what I learned in college. Like the story of Thanksgiving. There were some other things in textbooks that were totally false, things left out. My mom supplemented some of our learning about Black history since that was lacking.

I'm thinking about this as there's controversy with Scholastic releasing a book that white-washes slavery. We buy lots of picture books about history but I make sure that these are as accurate as they can be in an age-appropriate manner.
