I know everyone raves about Sophie the Giraffe, but I wonder if it's really worth spending $20 on something that has been described as a glorified dog toy. haha
What are your LO's favorite teethers?
ETA: DD2 is now 7 months

LO has a Sophie which was his top teether for ages - it was good for when he didn't have great coordination as it is large and easy to get some part of it in the mouth. Now however he never even tries to teeth on it - his favourite these days is a Brush-Baby chewable toothbrush which was much cheaper!

I can't bare to buy one either because of the price! And I don't really consider myself frugal at all. So far DS2 likes to chew on his burp cloths. Works for me.

Xander had Sophie and he never used her - waste of money in our household!! His favorite teethers ended up just being these rings:

I bought Sophie when there was a living social deal for overstock- ended up being $8 out of pocket. But even if I had paid $20 I got my money's worth since it was her favorite toy for months and months. But you never know if your kid will love it and it sucks to pay a lot when they don't!
C also liked a comotomo teether, and that banana toothbrush thing, but both came in way after Sophie.

LO didn't really take to any teether, including sophie (we got one as a gift). there are lots of other less expensive choices.

Also a glorified dog toy, but much cheaper than Sophie, Lettie loves her Infantino Squeeze and Teethe Lamb. Bought it for her when she was cutting her first teeth back in June and she's 9 and a half months now and it's still one of her favorite toys.

L has a million actual teethers and hates all of them. His favorite thing to chew on are his wooden blocks!

We had Sophie and an Infantino teether. I think ours is a monkey. My daughter seemed to like them equally but the Infantino was half the price at Target.

Sophie was definitely a hit, but she also like the banana toothbrush. And books. Her books were great teethers.

We have a Sophie giraffe, though it probably got used the least out of all her teethers...good ones were a cheap set of plastic keys and the winkle. We actually found Sophie was hard for her to grab and keep a hold of in the early teething days.

We had Sophie but lost it before he got really in to it. I might get the little alien version by the same company for ds2. We also had that infantino monkey but I got rid of it because ds would always manage to stick the tail down his throat and gag himself.

We just bought K a nuby key ring toy and he seems to like it. We put it in the freezer.

DD never cared for Sophie. She liked the baby banana toothbrush or the Bright Starts teeth and chills.

This is Target's version of Sophie. It is made out of the exact same soft rubber material and it squeaks. The brand is Infantino. It is $12.
