Short version: Are teething biscuits just cookies? Is there a healthier substitute?
Long version: Today daycare suggested we send some teething biscuits for LO to have after he has finished his puree lunch. They said he still acts hungry after a 4oz jar and this will help him practice self feeding. He's 7 months old and currently toothless. We started with BLW at 5.5 months but introduced purees at 6.5 months because he just seemed so much hungrier than what he could manage to eat himself or my breastmilk supply could provide. He's really good at holding foods and getting them to his mouth and even taking big bites - just hasn't quite mastered chewing and swallowing.
To me teething biscuits seem like cookies which doesn't seem like a healthy option. Is there a healthy non-messy option I can send instead? Or am I wrong and teething biscuits are actually healthy and nutritious?
