I know I've posted my nursery before, but I can't help it! I love sharing it.
    - did you have a theme? zoo animals
    - what colors did you use? gray, navy, yellow & turquoise
    - what's your fave decor in the nursery? the gallery wall
    - what's your fave piece of furniture or practical item? the glider! So comfy and I love rocking my LO to sleep.

Our theme was Peter Pan and we used greens, greys and yellows. I love all of it but I think my favorite part is the rug That was the first thing that we bought for it and we matched everything else to it.

Our daughter's first nursery was in a closet (with a window) so we didn't have a lot of space and the wall color was chosen for us.
    - did you have a theme? Nope, just wanted it to be cute
    - what colors did you use? gray, yellow, and purple
    - what's your fave decor in the nursery? the prints from etsy
    - what's your fave piece of furniture or practical item? We found the dresser/changing table at the local antique faire and it fit perfectly. We sanded and painted both it and the crib a matching gray, so those were fun. But the most practical thing for us was investing in the Elfa system. We're renting, so it's nice to know we can install it anywhere and it can grow with our daughter even if we move, which we did.

I miss that first space. She has an actual room now with a full-sized crib though, I just haven't finished decorating it yet!

@hilsy85: where did you get those blocks? Super cute! I wanted to get them for DD but never found any I liked.

We were team green and we live in a rental
Apt in the city so we couldn't do much in terms
Of painting and going all out.. I love whales and DH and I both love the beach so we did a beach and whale theme. She has navy blue whale sheets from pottery barn kids that set the tone for the room.

For DD we did light pink, grey, and brown with butterflies.
I'm pretty proud of her mobile cuz I made it myself
and I love her wall with the mirror butterflies on it.

For our next baby I want to grey, yellow, and white, with chevron.

We rent currently, so I didn't paint the walls like I would have loved to. I didn't buy much specifically for this room - a lot of it is stuff we already had. It is mostly just bright pops of color in an ugly yellow tinted room. Practicality and the pocketbook won out over design overall, but we are happy with the room.

Am I the only one who thinks that since we have so many great reader nurseries and bedrooms there should be a section dedicated to showcasing some of them? One for nurseries, the other for bigger kids? That way we could look through the pictures and get ideas (which is what I'm doing) without having to hunt through the forums.

    Anyone else agree?

@NaturallyCathy: are you thinking of a gallery section like Weddingbee?

    pomegranate / 3008 posts

@HLK208: Our furniture is Romina in the Karisma line (http://www.rominafurniture.com/?g=collections-karisma-romina). We found a local baby furniture store in our area (Baby and Kid's 1st Furniture) and ordered it through them.

@Happygal: I guess so, considering I've never hoped over to Weddingbee. I was thinking along the lines of someone set up to filter through and make the posts for our lovely ladies and gentlemen who want to share their kid's nurseries/bedrooms. Like one every couple of days. Just to give everyone a place to ooooo and ahhhhh and comment.

I only found this site about a month ago. The only site I have to compare it to is Spearmintbaby, where they do the whole post a nursery/bedroom every few days. Those often look like professional jobs and I'd be more interested in a wider variety, like what's been posted on this thread. I like that we have the 'here's what I've had to work with' scenarios beside the 'here's what I planned and splurged on'. It's a great mix.

@photojane: so sweet! love bright and cheery!

@mrskc: elephants! chevron! I'm in love!

    @NaturallyCathy: that's an awesome idea - a nursery gallery!

@runnerd: Well we have DIYs, Finds, Guides, why not nursery? I mean, if there was a form set up where the individual(s) could send in their information, say things like name, budget, style, etc and then send in a set number of photos (that way we don't have super long posts), then I think it would be a great way to get feedback on your nursery as well as give people (like me!) much needed inspiration.

It just seems logical. I don't know how long this site has been active but I'd say it has a very strong following and that it would be beneficial to a lot of people, even those who just pop in to read a post now and then instead of actively contributing.
