Liam has a pair of see kai runs that he wears almost always, but I'd like to get him some shoes he can wear for water play and another pair of sneekers that are good for new walkers and durable. Any brands you love?

Umi for regular shoes. LO is still wearing the pair I bought him in September and they've held up well. They're his only pair, so he wears them daily. His water shoes are Speedos, but I think I might get him some Keens when he outgrows these.

We use her crocs as water shoes. Its nice because they dry quickly.

Ditto Crocs for water shoes! We've also had good luck with Stride Rite.

LO wears Natives in the summer, which are great for play in the water. I also like Stride Rites for sneakers.

Mine have keen newport sandals for camping/wet/etc, and addidas classic white shell toes that we try to keep a little cleaner. They both have nice soles and stay on well. We got all four pair half off on sales and outlet so they weren't as cost prohibitive, but this is all the kids will get til they are outgrown.

See kai run and pedipeds are my favorite brands! My sister loves stride rite

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm also having a hard time finding something in his size because he has really really tiny feet!!

For small feet (under toddler size 4) we had good cheap success with the soft sole shoes at Payless. Since then we have bought the SMS Nike shoes. They are awesome! We buy at the outlet because they are expensive.

@brownie: I haven't seen soft soled ones at payless, but I'll look! He's between size 2-3 and is 14 months!!

We had some soft soles robeez that worked great when she first started learning how to walk!
She has a couple pairs of stride rites that stay on well and provide good support. I think for babies w/ small/skinny feet, the salesperson at Nordstrom recommended stride rites.

@mrs. tictactoe: Hmm yeah the ones I bought aren't there anymore. I had some awesome fisherman sandals by teeny toes soft sole brand. I liked that they were sandals.

Stride Rite for sneakers
Puma make super cute small sized sneakers
I need some water shoes too

@MungBean: My LO has small, narrow feet and Stride Rites are way too wide still. But Keds fit well! As do SKRs as long as they fit perfectly in length.

@mrs. tictactoe: What is his size? After buying some size 4s that are too big for DD, I have decided that she must be side 3. So *tiny* feet too! I literally have 4 different pairs of shoes in my house that need to be returned for one reason or another. DD's current shoes (See Kai Run) are in shreds, so I need some shoes that fit ASAP.

@skibobrown: I just got him measured yesterday and he's a 3! But she said he can wear 3.5 and they will last a little longer.
I bought some stride rite water shoes yesterday and so far they're great!

@T.H.O.U.: @Mrs. Yoyo: @autumnlove: Crocs always look sooo uncomfortable to me!
@sandy: are baby pumas soft soled?

@Mrs. Yoyo: I'm def checking out sales for next season.

In that size, I liked the Robeez Mini Shoes. They have grippy soles, as opposed to the slippery suede of the soft soled Robeez.

@regberadaisy: the baby sizes are soft soles but still pretty sturdy with some grip at the bottoms. They get more sturdy on the bottom as the sizes go up...they have them at nordstrom if you want to see them in person.

For sneakers, pedipeds have worked the best for my DS who has wideish feet (and somewhat high arches). He wears the grip n go. His last pair of Stride rite Soft Motion didn't work so well, the foot opening was just too narrow. They said he needs wide sizes.

@mrs. tictactoe: T has small feet too - he's wearing size 3 SKR. I really like the SKR "Smaller" brand - super flexible soles.

For summer/water shoes:
The Original and Shark Saltwater Sandals tend to run narrow. Charlie did not wear his Sharks at all. Olive's originals were a little uncomfortable the first time she wore them, but they have stretched out a lot and gotten softer. For wider feet I'd suggest the Sweetheart or Surfer styles. I love Saltwaters because they are so darn cute, great quality, reasonable price, and they get stretched out/softer the more you wear them in water.
Crocs are really comfortable, but there have been tons of reports of kids' crocs getting caught in escalators and causing injury. They are also more likely to slip off, so I vastly prefer Native style shoes. I've been buying them for two summers and they are a must in Charlie's summer shoe wardrobe.
I'm not a fan of the Keen style water shoes because the Natives just dry so fast.
For girls, I've really been loving Olive's Cienta Mary Jane sandals. She is a new walker and they really seem to provide a lot of support while still being cute.
For sneakers, new balance and stride rite tend to run wide or have wide options. Charlie had wide feet and those fit him well. Adidas fit him well too, but Pumas tended to be narrow.
Converse fit him well too.
Pedipeds are so soft and you can tell they are high quality when you see them. But they tended to run narrow for Charlie. I tend to think they are slighty higher quality than See Kai Run, but SKR's are really nice too.
I think you can't go wrong with Pediped or See Kai Run if you're looking for comfy toddler shoes.

Stride Rite because we got them properly fit--and they had a double velcro so his (tall) fat feet can actually fit something!

We love Pediped and SKR for everyday shoes, but I really love Keens for the summer. DD is 2 and I just ordered her 3rd pair. I love that they are so durable, and I've never really had a problem with them having any kind of an odor. DD wore her Keens all last summer, to the beach, the splash park, and the playground.

I love Tsukihoshi for regular shoes b/c they are soft and flexible and washable. My son always seems to favor those over all his other shoes. I also like See Kai Run if I can find a good deal on them. As for water shoes, Crocs and Keen. I usually get him one of each every summer. And if I'm lucky Nordstrom Rack will have some fleece lined Crocs for winter for cheap since he probably wears that less than his other shoes then. Sometimes I like having a quick on and off shoe in the winter too.

I love Pediped Grip n' go shoes - they're my favorite everyday shoes, but they start at size 4. I feel crazy spending $40+ on shoes, but they fit well and seem supportive and well made. My LO wears crocs for the water, and I think they're her favorite shoes since she can put them on herself easily. I actually know someone whose daughter's foot got stuck in an escalator while wearing crocs, so we really only use them for water and in our yard.

We are on our second pair of keen sneakers! They are great for sturdy running on all types of surfaces and can handle some light puddle jumping because of their big rubber soles.

@mrs. tictactoe: what water play shoes did you end up getting?
blogger / pomegranate / 3201 posts
@winniebee: We got him some stride rite water shoes. Once he's a more confident walker, I'd like to get him some natives.
