I hate hate hate my mattress! We bought it at Building 19 - is that a MA only thing? It's basically a discount store that sells overstock and closeout items - sort of like Big Lots or something. While it was fine for a while, I can feel the springs poking into my hip now, and I feel like we end up flipping it every month.
I'm trying to convince DH we need a new one, sooooo tell my about yours! Love it? Hate it? What type/brand/style? What's your dream mattress?

Love ours! We bought it at Steinhaufels for like $600, its a really soft and fluffy pillow top. It's definitely on the cheaper side of mattresses, but I've had it for 4-5 years now and it's still super comfortable!

We have the Tempurpedic Rhapsody and never want to go on vacation because it means leaving the bed at home. It was an investment but one I appreciate every single night.

Our queen sags and have been hemming and hawing about upgrading to the Tempur-pedic contour select King. Unfortunately, the $3K price tag has us dragging our feet for at least 6 months.

If anyone has a Tempur-pedic, do you ever miss having a regular bed? My husband thinks we'll get sick of it.

we have a memory foam one from amazon. our old mattress was 4 times the price and trashed after 3 years, so i was done with innerspring mattresses. i love it so far, but we've only had it since last christmas. we recently stayed at my parents' house and they have an amazing tempur-pedic, our cheapo memory foam didn't quite live up to their real one, but we still are happy with ours.

@sheskrafty: DH was really into us getting the Tempurpedic and I was kind of "meh" about it. It was a lot of money that I didn't feel we needed to spend. And yet, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
We still have our old pillowtop mattress in the guest room and while it's a nice bed, the Tempurpedic is just SOOO nice. I don't miss having a conventional innerspring mattress at all.
At first I was concerned about how it would effect our non-sleeping bed activities, but it's even better now. Less bouncy, more friction. Sorry about the TMI.

I've been trying to convince DH we need a new one too! I never bothered to look too closely at the label, but I know it's a nice pillowtop mattress. The problem is, he's had it since before he met me, which probably makes it about 10 years old. And lately I've been feeling like my side feels weird! Like it's compressed.
After buying a softer pillowtop for the guest room and not liking it, I know that our replacement mattress will not be spongy in any way and support this side sleeper!

We have a semi-pillow top Serta king size mattress and love it. It's not a full pillow top so it gives enough support for DH, but ti's enough of a pillow top to be soft enough for me! We love it.

For me, it's not about the mattress, it's about the mattress topper! We have hard Ikea mattresses (2 of them put together which makes a Cal King) and a Sealy Memory foam topper. I LOVE the combo! It's more comfy than fancy hotel beds! It's all about the thickness (IMO). The memory foam can't be so thin that it doesn't contour to your body right and even more importantly, it can't be so thick that it doesn't offer support. The calculation is supposed to be according to your weight. Ours is 4 inches and it's perfect for us.

We have the Tempurpedic Grand bed... love, love, love it. I was really expensive, but I'm so glad we got it... My quality of sleep has improved so much since having this mattress. We've had it for 5 years. Our only regret is we got a queen and not a king.... Maybe someday.

we have a temperpedic knock off from BJs. It was just over $300 for a king size, so even though I hate the damn thing, it's not a bad price.
my husband loves it and is the one who works like a dog, so I just deal with it. I just prefer cozy pillow top, that's all

We have the mattress that they use in the Westin hotels called the heavenly bed. And I believe it is indeed heavenly! Comes with a nice attached top layer that is just so cushy but firm at the same time. We love our bed.

My mattress is a Sterns and Foster, I don't know the model name but I am pretty sure they have changed now anyway. I think it would be equivalent to the Lux Estate.
The thing with the higher end mattresses is that they are designed to not be flipped, the pillow top is usually only on one side. I also have a separated box spring (two skinny ones) instead of the queen box spring. I think that makes a difference.
Since my husband is talking about upgrading to a king, we're looking at Sleep Number.

We waffled on what type of bed to get forever. Finally we decided as a wedding gift to ourselves, we would buy a tempurpedic. It was an investment, we used our gift money from the wedding but it was with every penny. We love it so much. Plus it has a warranty so if it starts to sag or anything, we can get a replacement. If you like the feel of a tempurpedic, get one. They're amazing.
