I read there was tornadoes in other parts of the city! It felt like lightening was striking in my backyard last night.

Yes! It felt so close to us too. It was so loud last night I was surprised E didn't wake up with every boom! Lots of flooding where we live.

Ugh I barely slept because of all the thunder and lightning. Luckily my office is closed as is DH's so we're having a relaxing family day with LO.

I'm in North Texas, so we aren't as bad off up here. But I was woken by the storm at about 3:15 and then I heard *drip* *drip*, got the flashlight out and we have a darn leak. The rain was coming down through the face of the double sided fireplace in our bedroom/bath.
Stay dry!

We can't even leave our house. The road is super flooded. I'm guessing we might be trapped here all week which makes me a little stir crazy and nervous already. Rain doesn't usually scare me but I'm feeling a little upset about this!

It hasn't gotten too bad where I am but it's coming. My kids are both in school though. I was supposed to bring a birthday lunch for DD's teacher .. She emailed and said not to come. But I feel bad cuz she doesn't have lunch. I'll have to see. Stay safe all!

My sister is in northern Houston (near Kingwood) and she sent me pictures, I'm blown away. There isn't any body of water near her. It's just poor drainage and massive amounts of rain.
Is the airport closed today?
