It's been great this whole week but I know it can change to extremes from day to day so I am not going to have high hopes for fall weather just yet. Today was 88 here and it felt wonderful to be out and about in the afternoon.

I went for a run outside yesterday for the first time in forever and it was soooo nice!

If you mean "cooler" being a high of 93, then no. Lol. I won't be happy until the high is in the low 80s!

@MrsSCB: Yes! I went for a run last weekend and almost had goosebumps because it was felt so cool compared to what it has been LOL

I still think it is hotter than balls, but that may be the pregnancy talking LOL. I can't wait for October!!!

@BabyBoecksMom: I'm always telling my husband I've been spoiled by the weather here -- I'll think, "ooh, it's a little chilly right now..." I'll look at the temperature and it's like 78 lol that used to be hot!

It is supposed to be 100 this weekend...so not really. Hoping it cools off a little before DS' first birtday party at the end of the month.

Cooling down but of course now the mosquitoes are out in full force due to all the rain...

It's 99 now but it does get cool in mornings and at dusk. Mosquitoes are AWFUL though this year!

@DillonLion: Yes, this. I am afraid of the outside. Someone tell me when it's safe.

Define "cooling off". Yes it's 10° cooler that two weeks ago. We did have a really nice cool snap too. Now it's back to the mid 90's and at nearly 7 mo pregnant, I am not a fan. I really can't wait for fall weather!

I will at least consider going out for a walk after work now that it is 10 deg cooler than it was last month. The forecasts are saying just another 2 weeks until we will consistently be in the mid- to low-80s. Bring on the cooler weather!

Yea... Iono where you ladies are, but I'm in North Texas and we're still in the upper 90's and with the humidity, we easily hit 100 most days. Definitely better than 110+, but it's still on fire hot! lol
I'm hoping it'll cool down significantly when the State Fair arrives in a few weeks.

@mrs.shinerbock: Gotcha! I figured y'all would be warmer than us!
pomegranate / 3779 posts
@Alivoo01: we tend to be a few defrees warmer in the winter and a few degrees cooler in the summer. I think it has something to do with the nearby ocean. My parents live about half way between Houston and Dallas and it's the same there - a few degrees hotter than Houston in the summer.

@Alivoo01: my office is going to the fair on opening day, as a bonding/social event. I can't wait!!

@MrsLonghorn: That's so cool!!
@DillonLion: I'm looking forward to it too! Just need to decide on what day and pray it's not blistering hot out!

@Alivoo01: We just moved to the DFW area, is the State Fair fun? I was planning on trying it one weekend.

@Alivoo01: we are excited for the fair too! I want to try the fried carrot cake, drool! We try to avoid opening weekend, closing weekend and UT/OU weekend if possible. It only leaves one weekend to go, but that doesn't always work out.
nectarine / 2636 posts
@MamaBehr: OK I've only been to the fair once, but it was tons of fun and we didn't even do half the things. We went as a group and got like, one of everything and everyone took a bite so we didn't get overly full or waste money.
FYI, get the fried oreos. Amazing!

@Boopers: We went on the ut/ou weekend and didn't think it was too bad crowd wise. We are longhorn fans, so we enjoyed saying "hook em" to everyone.
But this was a few years ago. Actually, we were there a couple days before the original Big Tex caught fire. I'm not sure if the crowds are worse now.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: we went years ago on UT/OU weekend and we said never again my husband was supposed to go with friends the day Big Tex caught on fire, but plans fell through.
We also try to go with friends so everyone can try a little of everything without spending a lot of $$$. We usually walk through the vendors, watch the animal shows, the car show, the museum, and of course eat! I'm not a fan of the rides, so I've never bothered to do that. This is our first year going with a kiddo, so our experience will be different this year!

@Boopers: do you know what weekend is the UT/OU is? I'll try to avoid that weekend!
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
I'm in San antonio this weekend and it's hotter than hell! And humid!!
clementine / 806 posts
TX/OU will be Saturday, october 10 this year. I'm a UT fan, and I would still avoid it! We went to the game a few years ago, and it was WAY too crowded for me.
nectarine / 2636 posts
Haha, I guess I'm in the minority for ut/ou weekend! That was my first and only time ever though, so I don't really know any better. We ended up walking around, eating, did the car show, ferris wheel, a couple other shows, ate some more....

Hey there Texas, talk about a cool down, it snowed in Idaho today.......... Snow.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@MamaBehr: If you enjoy people watching and eating an insane amount of good fried food - yes!!! We haven't been on the rides and play very few games. DS is actually old enough to start riding some rides now (with an accompanying adult) so that might change this year!
@Boopers: We try to go on a weekday because admission is significantly cheaper like Dr Pepper Can Tuesdays.
@abbydabbydoodlebug: Sorry chica, but BOOMER SOONER!!!!! /m\ However, we've never gone that weekend just because we know how crazy it will be. There's another weekend that hosts another big college football game. Either bowling green or grambling state, I think? But we're all about going in big groups too just so we can sample everything without dying after hitting up a couple stalls.
@jh524: I'm kinda jelly of your snow because it hit 100 all weekend long! It was so flipping hot!! It even drizzled a bit on Saturday so it was super humid for a while. Even DS (who's 2) goes outside and immediately tells me, "mama, hot!". LOL!!

Anyone in DFW have any fun plans to enjoy the cooler temps this weekend? We just moved so I think we are going to go on a walk and explore the park near our house.
