When you take a bag of frozen milk out of the freezer, when does the 24 hours to use it start?
I had DH pull down a few bags this afternoon to send with LO to daycare tomorrow... But now she has a fever & won't be going. I know I can use the milk tomorrow, but I prefer breastfeeding over bottles when I'm at home (mostly so I don't have to pump).

If they came out of the freezer this afternoon I would totally be fine sending it to daycare with her on Wednesday!

Yay! For some reason I was thinking it was as soon as its out of the freezer!
Yay for no pumping tomorrow... & hopefully a not so sick baby on Wednesday!

@CarrieLouWho: don't worry -- i thought that too! but i looked it up a while back and it is 24 hours after completely thawed.

I was wondering the same thing! Ok, so if you thaw it in the fridge you can leave it for 24 hours but what if you thaw it using warm water and decide not to use it anymore? Can you stick it back in the fridge after its been warmed??

@Mrs. Chen: yes you can put it back if its been warmed but I would use it sooner. The issue comes if LO drinks from the bottle which adds bacteria that if left can grow.

I'd send it, but maybe note which bottle and ask them to use it first. That way it doesn't sit around all day before being consumed.
