So does sleep training really work? Or do we have the end of a sleep regression to thank?
My lo was waking 3-4 times a night for a night and I had to hold her till she was fast asleep before putting her in the crib. That was around the 4 month mark and it lasted a month. Pure agony. And no one could put her dpwn for a nap but me sonce i nursed to sleep. So I stopped nursing to sleep. I just rocked and shushed her till she slept in my arms. There was a lot of crying involved. But wothon a week she was so happy just to suck on her pwn li and doze off. After she got used to that and stopped crying, i started putting her down in the crib with her eyes open. No crying involved, because if she fussed I just rocked her to sleep in my arms. Now i just wrap her up and rock her for maybe a few seconds, plop her in her crib, and shes happy to go to sleep on her own. At night she sleeps 12 hours straight without waking. And shes happier than ever, sleep times arent a struggle, and she's well rested.
Was it sleep training that did it? Or was it her own developmental change around 5 months? What are your experiences?
If ot's sleep training, i LOVE sleep training! I had sp many prejudices against it before, and I thought it wouldn't work.
