There was only one BBT thermometer at CVS the day I decided to chart, so I bought it! Looked the same as @MrsBells but a different brand. It was $10.

Amazon! It was pretty accurate but the battery did die pretty quick so buy batteries when you buy the thermometer! I could not find them locally anywhere!

I used the Target brand. But temping didn't work for me (I wake up to pee during the night and it just created a lot of stress for me trying to find a consistent time that I could get a resting temp) so I can't really say if I thought it was good or not. I do remember thinking it took a long time to get a temp.

@MrsCastro: Well you are supposed to temp at the same time every day. But you are also supposed to temp before you even sit up in bed, and you should be at rest for at least three hours. So if I wake up to pee at 4am one day, and then 5am to pee the next day it was really tough for me to get a consistent resting temp. And worrying about it just stressed me out and made me lose sleep. So it wasn't worth it for me.

@MamaMoose: ok maybe temping isnt for me, yet...maybe i will wait and see, this is our first offical TTC cycle so maybe i will just wait and see what happens naturally...

I tried several thermometers and agree that the one at Walmart is the best. The Target one had favorite temps and the cvs/Walgreens one took so long to record the temp I would fall asleep.

I also found the Target one had favorite temps, plus the recall feature, where it showed the last temp, flashes SO quickly I couldn't always record it and I found it difficult to read.
I use the Nexcare one (purchased through the Couple to Couple League, but now it's cheaper on Amazon). It has a backlight, which I really like, and it displays the last temp for a while so it's easy to read and record it later. It does beep every 4 seconds while you are taking the temp to let you know it's working, which is a little annoying, but the backlight feature makes up for it for me.
If this is your first cycle TTC, though, honestly, I think starting to temp right now might be stressful. In your situation I might go a month or two before starting to temp. I found the first minth of temping to be a little stressful, trying to remember to take it on time, etc, but by the end of the second month, it's really easy and no big deal at all.
