I think i'm going to pull the plug and start maternity leave Wednesday (i'll be 40 weeks and 4 days). I need SOMETHING to occupy my time.....
Suggest a craft for me! Nothing too crazy time consuming, but something that I could at least get started on/keep me from getting stir crazy and watching too much Law & Order! I've already made the baby two quilts and I'm working on a scarf right now that will probably be done very soon.

I'm very non-crafty so my craft project is to paint the wooden wall initials that I bought (we got one for our boy name and one for our girl name). One of them will hang in the nursery as part of our gallery wall, but obviously we won't know which one until baby arrives. I'm painting them white with aqua edges (I think).

I have a ton of burp cloths....I do have a super cute boppy cover already. It has pink and green giraffes on it 
Darnit why do I have to be so prepared, ha. I don't know what kind of craft I want to start....just something to keep my hands occupied

@blackbird: I hear you on being prepared. Today was my first official day of mat leave and I didn't know what to do with myself!
Of course, in mere days/weeks we will be very busy, so everyone keeps telling me to savour this time and relax, but relaxing is boring!

Agreed! I've done a TON of relaxing the last week+ and i'm so over it. I haven't worked out in a week, my house is clean, I have nothing to do! I'd visit a friend but she's getting over the flu

@blackbird: do you have more than one boppy cover? I had a spitter, I NEEDED two. 
How about a toddler-sized hooded towel? Baby towels only last for a few months before they grow out of them.
I love the idea of a shadow box. I still want to put one together for M.

This is a quick project that i've made as baby gifts.. good if you've got a lot of scraps.

Unfortunately the original blog is no longer accessable but its a 6 ft tall growth chart. each of the 6 "squares" are a 1"x12" solid and a 10"x12" solid with 12 1" squares. 1/4 seam allowance. is backed with a print and quilted with 1" lines. corners are 6"squares folded on a diagonal to hold a dowel rod at top and bottom and then the whole thing is bound
