Yup ice cube trays because they're a perfect 1oz. Or if you look in amazon there are various trays made specifically for this. With lids etc.
How far jn advance are you starting? I plan on doing this too but don't want to start too soon and get freezer burn!

I bought two silicone ice cube trays from Bed Bath & Beyond. They were perfect for measuring & freezing the purees. Once frozen, I would pop the cubes out and stored them in ziploc bags that were labeled with the type of food & the date. Regular ice cube trays work too but it's harder to get the foods out. Some food wouldn't come out at all, like mango.

I did find that a lot of the "recipes" from the BB cookbook were off when it came to how much you would get in each batch. Wholesome baby food is a great place to get ideas for new foods and recipes.

I used silicone ice cube trays, they were bigger then the normal ones so it worked out well.

I used regular ice cube trays because that is what I had on hand. At first I would measure 2T into each cube then freeze, but quickly learned how to eyeball the 2T to prevent overflow and just went from there. You can check cookbooks and recipes for make your own purees/babyfood for how long things last in the freezer. I typically just did purees for the fruits/veggies and would make enough to last about 1 month at a time. When we got into the more "adventurous" foods I usually just pureed whatever we were eating and would give that the next day or so rather than making large batches and freezing.

There are some foods that "stick" in the ice cube tray but I found that if I set the tray in a little bit of lukewarm water for a few minutes it would loosen up enough to pop out without melting too much.

i also say ice cube trays. I would make 2 trays of each food and freeze them in bags and then put it in a bigger freezer ziplock bag,

@Mrs. Sunglasses: i see, so you just pop out as many cubes as your little one needs. i was thinking if that's the case, why not just get one of those trays that hold up more.

@Goldilocks1107: oh ok! Great I can start now too then, LO will be 3 months this Saturday. By the time she's 6months ti will be winter so not a lot of fresh local produce!
