Do you have any helpful tips for someone returning to the workforce after two years? And for the first time as a mom?
Spoiler alert: it's for me.

Congrats!
I would say make sure to focus on you! Get some nice outfits picked out before you start. Stuff that makes you feel good and you can throw on quickly in the mornings. Get a good hair cut, a nice purse or lunch box etc.

@T.H.O.U.: thanks I definitely needed to get new clothes and a haircut. I didn't realize how much I had neglected myself.

Always make sure you find your keys the night before! There's nothing worse than having to hunt through coats and change bags in the morning looking for your keys!!!

Congrats!
No real experience with that exact situation, but as a WOHM, the best tip I can give you is to do as much night before prep for the next day once LO is asleep. Time is even more precious now. Also go through several "dry runs" of everything before you start. And always give yourself an extra fifteen minutes.

Hey, congrats! I did the exact same thing, I returned to work full time just after my son turned 2. What I learned is that it took me almost 3 months to find my groove and get back into a solid routine. The first month was all trial and error and I made A LOT of errors. Then, the second month, things started getting better and my husband and I tweaked routines. By the end of the third month, we had a really good groove going. It's been 2 years now!

@looch: that is so encouraging. I'm so nervous about the routines outside of work, and not worried about actual work at all. Thank you!
@Cherrybee: excellent point!
@LBee: I have considered that because mornings are going to be rushed. Fifteen minutes is a great idea. I'm definitely going to implement that.

@Mrs. Polish: I was so worried about the morning and evening routines and even more worried about how I would would work in housework. I made a minute by minute morning routine plan that involved me getting up at 5am!! Long story short, it all fell into place, I get up at 7 most mornings and its really nowhere near as tough as I thought it would be.
You will be awesome!

@Cherrybee: I am very concerned about working AND taking care of the house. I'm forcing it to take a backseat on my worry list just because I have more important things, but I really have established a good system here in my time off. I know, I'll establish a new system. Change is hard.

Congrats! You'll get into a new groove after awhile! The house won't be messy forever (I ised to think it would be lol)

@Mrs. Polish: We hired a housecleaner. I told my husband it was necessary if I was going to be out of the house working. There was just no way I was going to devote 4 hours (at least) of every weekend cleaning, I wanted that time with my son and husband.

@mrbee: the job is great. Still working to achieve the working mom balance. I think it will be easier when it isn't winter. thanks for asking.
