Okay, I'm headed back to work in two weeks and I'd like to have the Trikester in his crib at night. He still sleeps well in bed with me, but we've been in the guest room and I miss Mr. Tricycle.

The Trikester is 11 weeks old and currently naps in his crib 2 or 3 times a day. The naps are never longer than 30 minutes, and I have to bounce him until he's super sleepy (though he always opens his eyes when I set him in the crib).

We've tried putting him in his crib at night twice. On both occasions we gave up after an hour. He'll lay there for 5 minutes, and then start to fuss, which escalates to a cry. We go up, bounce him back to super drowsy, and put him back in the crib. Within 10 minutes we're back upstairs repeating the process.

We have a bedtime routine - diaper, swaddle, story, bottle, nurse, which we follow consistently when he sleeps with me. Our routine starts around 8:00 and we're asleep by 9:00.

Anyone have tips or tricks for getting the baby to sleep in the crib? I'm not opposed to CIO, but didnt think it was recommended at 3 months.... If I do let him cry, what do you think is an appropriate amount of time for a kid his age to wail?

Thanks in advance, oh wise ones!!!
