...and I cried all the way to work. It was raining out, so I felt like the sky was commiserating with me. I've been at work for 2 1/2 hours and I haven't cried in a half hour. Progress!
(I know I'm probably doing a whole lot worse than she is....)

My first day was horrible. but it gets better, she has now been at daycare for over 2 months, its still bit hard and I'm never truly happy with EVERYTHING but she is doing great there and never cries anymore and really likes everyone.

Charlie had a hard time at the dropoff the first day! That made it a lot harder...

I put her in daycare the week before I started work as a practice week for me. My first day was rough but DH and I made a date day out of it!

@mediagirl: Awww if it makes you feel any better My baby was only 12 weeks on her first day, but she survived it. Everyone tells me great things about how daycare makes them thrive, teaches them to be social, and interact well with others. Its harder on us parents than it is on them, they just adjust so fast to everything

@mediagirl: I cried that whole way to work for LO's first day of daycare. I was ok at work as long as the words "daycare" weren't mentioned. Then I went to pick her up and she was wailing (but so was every other baby in the room). I lost my s$%^ the entire night. The next day was much better, and now its just part of our daily routine. If you have a really hard time, you may want your husband to drop her off for a while.

@mediagirl: Oh my goodness, I am in the same boat today, but my LO is only 8 weeks. I cried putting his clothes on him. I cried any time my husband tried to talk to me this morning. I cried AT the daycare dropping him off. I cried on the way to work. I managed to pull it together before going into the building at work because its also a new job so I don't want them to think I'm completely nuts. I never would have imagined how hard this would be

OH, I absolutely know how it feels! Before I went back to work, we put LO in daycare a couple of days to get used to it and I totally sat at home bawling my eyes out. BUT IT GETS BETTER! I promise! In fact, today, LO whimpered when we said byebye to his teachers to go home!

I didn't think I would cry because I was actually looking forward to going back to work.... I totally bawled as soon as the daycare door shut behind me. I cried all the way to work (45 min commute) and throughout the entire day whenever I would think about him, which was a lot. As the week went on the tears were less and less. Now, almost three months later it is easy peasy. He loves it there and always has the biggest smile when we drop him off and when we pick him up. But I do have to admit I do have days where I get a little teary-eyed and just want to go pick him up and cuddle with him!

Oh hon. Going back to work was hands down the hardest thing I have ever done- I cried all day and on and off for weeks. I hated hearing it at the time- but it does get better, but 5 months later I still find myself in a meeting wondering what I am doing here and not with my little lady. Thinking of you @mediagirl and @AMELIEISME (I started a new job too- which I think was worst because I didn't know anyone and totally felt isolated). HUGE HUGS!

I feel for you! Today was LO's first day at "daycare" but it's an aunt's home. She'll be watching LO 4 days a week and on Wednesday's she go to actual daycare and I am really dreading that day. I made it through today with no tears...I'm not so sure about Wednesday.

Ok, we made it through day 1 and drop off on day 2. It wasn't as hard today. The ladies at the daycare were sweet and kept telling me what a good baby she is. I know they're not lying because we got lucky with her - she IS a good baby. I teared up today when leaving her but didn't cry. I think it's a little easier because for three weeks, my Mom watched her while I was at work. Sending her with strangers was just so hard compared to leaving her with Mom!!
@krsmall: hope you do okay today. The babies are always fine, it's the Moms and Dads that take it so hard at this young of an age!
@LAGS: we snuggled tons last night before bedtime. 
@Amelieisme: awww..I love that you got to go get snuggle time at lunch!! She's too far away to do that but, she'll be across the street in November when we move daycares so, I'm looking forward to those lunchtime snuggles then.
@chrispygal: Good luck on Wednesday!! That's the hardest part - leaving her with strangers. Leaving her with my Mom was easy peasy!!
@bluestriped bee: No. We start that daycare on November 5th, though!!

@mrbee: my Mom lives a couple hours away. We were lucky enough to have her come into town every week for three weeks to watch M for us. Now she's back home getting ready for a month long trip to Italy. She and Dad are movers and shakers.
