Any tips for the transition to toddler bed? DS1 forced our hand by jumping out of his crib with his sleep sack on last night. Not at all sure how to do bedtime tonight!
Tips on safety/baby-proofing welcome as well

We just make sure DS's bathroom, the two guest rooms, and gate at the stairs are closed. We were going to add a toddler rail, but decided not. DS had no problems transition to a bed, but he had been sleeping on a cot at daycare since he was one. Once in a while he's wired at nap time (bedtime he's always tired), and we will rock him to sleep. Otherwise, we just lay him down, singing to him, and turn on his crib soother.

Instead of going to the toddler bed, we took the springs out of the crib - now his mattress is flat on the floor within the crib frame and there's no way he can climb out (she says, fingers crossed). B isn't even 2 yet and I couldn't face messing with his sleep yet.
