Would love to see the fall and winter coats that you have/are getting for your DS! I just ordered a bunch of fall stuff from baby gap so now I'm on a roll and just want to get all his fall/winter stuff out of the way!

I need your motivation! I haven't bought a thing yet for E and it's going to cool down before I know it. I have some stuff on H&M that I need to order, I'm going to do it today, thanks for the push

We have a navy Northface Denali Fleece. And a puffer vest from BabyGap. He has a separate snow suit coat too. Need to get a peacoat to last the winter!

My DS will be wearing his North Face Denali from last year. I bought it a size larger from Nordstrom Rack and it still fits this year. Our climate is mild so that's the warmest he'll need!

@mrsjyw: that vest! so cute! I wanted to get L a vest but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Is the NF denali his fall jacket? We had something similar last year and it was greatt...trying to decide if I want to get this instead:
http://www.patagonia.com/us/product/product-update.jsp?style_color=60517-500&skuRefId=1256349&quantity=1&cartId=29659099&ws=true&noncevalue=ag9YLXLDZect8jZ%2BKuMtU590s5ciaHT8qL29ir3hu3w%3D
@T-Mom: that is lucky! Our winter was so so awful last year, I'm afraid of what this year will bring!
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
@hilsy85: the denali seems thicker than the patagonia fleece we had last winter (and we used that all season long for his carseat coat). so we'll likely use it all through fall/winter. we need a puffer coat like the one you posted for the harsh harsh days. SO cute btw!

@mrsjyw: do you think that patagonia one is warm enough for like jan/feb? I was thinking that would be his fall jacket (for just over a shirt) and then something like this for winter:
http://www.landsend.com/products/boys-fleece-lined-puffer-jacket/id_271316_5
or this, which I am dying over because the patterns are so cute:

I bought him this jacket for the winter, it's pretty thick and lined with fleece, so I'm hoping it will be warm enough!
I also have a Patagonia fleece from @mrsjyw: for the Fall, and a plain fleece from Northface that will still probably fit him for the first half of the Fall.

I have been thinking about this. I may need to hit up the resale shops and HB classifieds!

How old is your DS? We had the Columbia Infant Bugababy Bunting when ours was 14 mos, we had the 18 mo size which we had hoped to use 2 years in a row but by the next winter when he turned two it was just too snug. So we bought the Columbia Kids Frosty Slope Bib and Jacket set which is handy because it can be extended, we will definitely be able to use it this year. (No particular attachment to Columbia, just happened to find and like both on amazon!)

I bought DS a 3-in-1 jacket from the Children's place last year when it was on sale. I also bought him a peacoat from the HB Classifieds. Hoping this will last him through the fall/winter, but I probably still need to buy him a winter hat.

@shellio: he'll be 2 in october! is the bunting bag for the stroller? Or for him to run around in? Is it like a full body snowsuit thing?
@Alivoo01: ah I love peacoats, wish I had a reason to get LO a nice coat like that!

We got something similar to this for Xander for last year: http://www.columbia.com/Boys%27-Steens-Mt%E2%84%A2-II-Fleece---Toddler/WD6760,default,pd.html so we'll probably do the same this year. It's a good warm jacket and can be worn in his car seat. Not sure what we'll get for actually playing in the snow though.

@hilsy85: Yea, I think so! I bookmarked both of those for A! Thank you! We had just a fleece jacket from Patagonia that seemed to be really good at keeping warmth in, even though it wasn't as thick as the puffer coat we had for him. Def think the fleece lined would be good for Jan/Feb esp with sweatshirts/etc underneath.

@hilsy85: We had that patagonia one for our DS last winter, and it was plenty warm for when we went to Chicago (much colder than our weather in Seattle). Thanks for posting the link too, because I was thinking about getting a bigger size for him this winter!

@ninja: it's on sale now! And free shipping (so less expensive than the patagonia website) through the REI website!
I just ordered one, but will probably end up getting a different winter coat, since i want one with a hood.

@hilsy85: I love the Boden ones! I got J's winter coat from Polarn last year, but I may go with Boden this year!
He has this fleece duffle for fall: http://www.bodenusa.com/en-US/Baby-0-3yrs-Coats-Jackets/71355/Baby-0-3yrs-Fleece-Duffle.html

@Beehive: oh em gee, that is so cute! And I love that little hat and glove set, I didn't see that on the website before. I agree, the patterns on the boden ones are so so cute, I love that striped one.

@hilsy85: Even Better, if you need a 2T in Viking blue like me, go to moosejaw.com. They have it for even cheaper...plus a 20% off code (EXTRA20). Free shipping and no sales tax! (when i ordered it said 2 left though!)
ETA..just saw you already ordered on...NEVERMIND!

@ninja: ah oh well! BTW do you know if the patagonia one can be worn in carseats?
pineapple / 12566 posts
I bought this one for my son last year when it was 40% off. It's not the most exciting style but I found it to be really well made for Gap and very warm. I think it will still fit him this year too.

@hilsy85: I don't really have a "reason" for DS for the peacoat. I just thought it was so darn cute; and had to have it for him. lol!! Kids can wear cute things every day and get away with it. Me - if I dress up, people are wondering who's getting married. HAHAHA!
@ninja: Oooo. I like that!! DS had a fleece GAP jacket like that last year when he was 3-6 months old and I absolutely loved it! Warm and cozy, but not too hot and has a hat attached. I've been on the look out for that same zip up, but haven't seen it at GAP yet. Debating if I should get this one instead...
pear / 1614 posts
@hilsy85: It is a full body snowsuit with a removeable full body fleece. It was nice because it kept snow from getting in, I can see it being great for smaller toddlers/babies because the hands and feet fold over. People in the reviews also said they used the outer lining when it was raining and yes, I think the fleece would be great for stroller on a cooler day. And better for fitting in the carseat. I'm bummed we didn't get to use it longer but now I have another DS so hopefully we will get to use it again.

@lamariniere: Your link just spins and spins for me, but I think I'm talking about the same jacket as you! I absolutely loved it!!!
squash / 13764 posts
@Alivoo01: @lamariniere: I am also having major trouble with the gap website! I tried to look there before ordering the patagonia one but it didn't work @shellio: ah that sounds really smart, I didn't actually know they made them for older toddlers!

@Alivoo01: @hilsy85: try again? Posted from my computer this time instead of my phone.

@hilsy85: my opinion was that it was thin enough to be worn in the car seat. Others may feel differently!
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@lamariniere: Link works, but not the same jacket I had. This is the one DS wore last year, but in a grey color. Looks like they only have one color this year. This would get dirty so quickly. Boo!
squash / 13764 posts
@lamariniere: ah now it's working. That looks like the winter jacket that I wnat to get! I love the hood.
pineapple / 12566 posts
@Alivoo01: I am a sucker for clothing with ears. But that would get dirty quickly.
@hilsy85: I also like that it's water resistant, so it's good for snow play! Wait until they do another 40% off sale.
