Does anyone esle really struggle getting their toddler in a car seat? I do! The worst, is when B decides to stand up and laugh and you get that car, that wants your spot and they are just stalking you. I want to be like, we may be here for awhile, move along.... It give me performance anxiety, my parenting skills are on display and I can't get my toddler to sit on his butt to strap him in.... Please tell me I'm not the only one who goes throught this???

Hahaha M is always at her worst when someone is watching! But I've learned to not really care. They can either wait patiently, or find another spot. I'll never see them again in my life anyway!

@MamaMoose: I got the dirtiest look at Target the other day. And then she insisted on pulling in eventhough my door was open. Keep in mind, there was PLENTY of open spaces.

Haha... LO is the Rod. She's really good at doing it while screaming while all of the neighbors are out in their yards and can hear.

@littlek: both my LOs exhibit all of these and usually at least two at a time. DD is better now that she is old enough to climb in and buckle herself but DS is a bear.

Ughhhh every single time we get into the car it's a struggle. DS sees the carsear, starts screaming and twisting and then becomes the rod. Every time. He never goes peacefully.

Ha, D is a combo of The Rod and The Noodle. First he stiffens up until he finally acquiesces and lets me sit him in the seat, but then he just flops over so I can get the straps over him and buckle done. Punk.

@Running Elley: My E is the SAME way!! She likes to mix it up, this morning was the rod, yesterday after daycare was the twisty noodle...sigh..

@LuLu Mom: It's exhausting!! He runs away too. I usually let him walk outside since I'm lugging DD and all of our gear so ill put her in the car first and as soon as he sees me close the door and head for him he takes off!

B is only 8 months and it is already a fight to get him in the car seat!
ETA: He does the rod every. single. time.

DS is starting to become the rod depending on his mood. He's still in his bucket seat, but loves to sit upright so I can't get the straps over him. When I hold him down to strap him in, he gets upset unless I start the car soon thereafter!

Yes! We struggle with getting him into his car seat. Usually first thing when we leave the house he's ok with it. But when we're leaving to come home he throws a fit. Turns into the rod and screams. It's so annoying.

Yep, my lo is a rod but only at daycare where there are tons of parents who can hear him scream and me "bend, child, bend!"
I bribe him with puffs, his musical mirror, and my phone. Thankfully home is less than half a mile from daycare.

As long as E's distracted, I can get her to sit down decently. We have a small magnetic drawing pad in the car that I usually hand to her so I can get her buckled (or sometimes her water, a book, something to keep her from fighting me).

DS has jut started doing the rod and crying. It is mostly when he is tired and only has ever happened when leaving daycare. He's only 13 months, I'm not looking forward to what is to come.

Nope! My oldest threw a 20 minute tantrum while standing on his car seat at one of the busiest malls in the area we used to live at. I had to wave away multiple cars that day. It was probably the worst tantrum he threw about not wanting to sit in his car seat.
My youngest, well, he slouches down and kicks the headrest and laughs...
