I've never had a dishwasher but have asked for money towards one for my birthday coming up. We have a very tight budget. The dishwasher I wanted had top controls that would be on the door and I thought that'd be great to keep little fingers from pressing buttons (DS loves to push the buttons on my mother's dishwasher). I just realized that I could get basically the same dishwasher with front controls for $200 less. This would be a huge savings for us, but I'm wondering if I'll be kicking myself for changing my mind? This model doesn't appear to have any child locks.

Does your LO play with the controls on your dishwasher? Have you found any effective ways to keep them from messing with the dishwasher?
