LO has been a big baby from the start - 8 lbs 14 oz and 22 in at birth. He's almost 17 months and now and 30 lbs and 33.5 in. He looks silly in his day care class because he's so much larger than all his "peers." Everyone kept telling me it would slow down when he started walking, but he's gained 1.5 lbs since he started walking a month ago! I don't feel like he eats too much, and I make sure everything is very healthy, but he definitely doesn't have the typical toddler pickiness - kid likes his food!

I'm probably being silly, but should I be worried about obesity at this age? DH and I are both tall and thin, but DH was overweight as a child and we'd really like to avoid that for LO for obvious health reasons. I expressed my concern to the doctor at his 15 month appt and she said he was "proportional" and would slow down when he was walking, but I haven't seen that happen.

Anyone else have a large toddler? Did their growth eventually slow down?
