Ok here starts my gear questions. Does anyone have and love the tommee tipee closer to nature bottles and steamer? Also does anyone have and love the medela pump in style breast pump?
I do not know if I will be working after birth but feel like I need a pump anyways. I have heard good things about medela. Also we were at Target and so much of their tommee tipee stuff was on clearance so we bought it all. Is it a good brand? Why am I so clueless about gear?

I have that pump and love it! My LO has one TT bottle and takes it just great. I think a lot of breastfed babies do well with them!

I love the bottles! I think you can buy adapters so you can pump directly into TT bottles?

@autumnlove: Oh, dumb question here but you don't pump into the bottles that are attatched to the tubes and then dump it into other bottles? Ahh this stuff is so confusing!

I have a 2007 Medela Pump in Style. I love it. I use Avent bottles and now Oxo sippy cups.

@anonysquire: I pump into the small bottles. I've never pumped into an actual bottle.

@anonysquire: you can get an adapter! I have adapters for mine and just pump straight into the TT bottles.

@anonysquire: it depends on the bottle. Some of them fit into PIS and other models. I bought a few Medela bottles to pump into. Don't buy the Medela Pump and Save bags, they're the worst. I pumped into a bottle then switched it to a bag.

@anonysquire: Yes, I pump into Medela or Evenflo (only in the morning when I expect more than 5 oz per boob) bottles and then I freeze the milk in Honeysuckle bags.
I put thawed milk in the TT bottles for daycare. I also transfer enough for one feeding into a glass Dr. Brown's bottle when DH has to feed her in the morning. He heats the milk in the glass bottle (heats better than plastic) and then he transfers to a TT bottle! We wash a lot of bottles during the week!

@anonysquire: BRU sells an adapter, $5 each, so you can pump directly into TT bottles. We use them and no complaints! We tried about 5 or 6 different ones too. We don't use the streamer, just wash them.
TT also makes good travel container for heating up bottles. You put hot water in the thermos and then pour water into the plastic part to heat up the bottle. The water stays hot a long time. Highly recommend.

The pump is INCREDIBLE. You will LOVE it.
I haven't used the bottles but the general consensus is that people like them.

I watched videos on youtube too of reviews and 'how tos'. Loved that pump.

Those are exactly what we use. Well, almost the same pump but I got a slightly scaled back version through my insurance for free, but it's the same main parts. We only tried the medela bottles and the tommee tippee and te medela were too fast for her, so we only use the tt. No complaints.
I am not going back to work but the pump is great for when I want to be away from her for a couple of hours or if we are going somewhere where bottle feeding is more convenient. I just went away for half a day and the pump let me do that.

I have both and love both! I did also get the attachment that lets me pump straight into the bags which I love because there is less cleanup. I hate the madela bags though so I plan on retrofitting my NUK bags to work with it.

I have that pump and loved it!!
I pumped into the small medela bottles and we just used them until he was ready for a faster flow and larger bottle and used Avent since I got them for my shower.

DS used the TT bottles fine, not sure if he'd have taken to any bottle but he did well going back and forth with these so I didn't try anything else, although I nursed 90+% of the time.
I used the Medela Swing since I was a SAHM and only pumped once a day, if that. I like it, it was easy to bring places too since it was so small.

I had this pump as well as the adaptors that let you pump directly into TT bottles. Loved all of it, though really only used the adaptors when traveling in order to cut down on the number of parts I needed to carry.
Attachments to pump directly to bags found awesome - I'll have to look into those for baby #2.

We have TT, Advent natural (glass and plastic) and Comotomo bottles. TT was our least favorite so we retired them. The caps never stayed on!

@cascademom: Why don't you like the medela pump and save bags? I've been pumping into mine for my stash and am just curious if there is some reason I should be using something different?
