I know there are sleep regressions, but is there such thing as times when babies sleep extra? C is a month old, and has been a so-so sleeper, and not a great napper in particular. Then last night, she took a 2 hour nap, then slept over 6 hours in one stretch overnight, after falling asleep on her own-- not nursed down, but just laying on DH she conked out and didn't wake up when I changed or swaddled her. She was up after 6 this morning, went down for a nice nap a couple hours later and has been sleeping for 3 hours and counting.
I THINK I should be counting my blessings, but it's so unlike her it's making me nervous. Is this what normal babies do? The ped said at this age babies usually sleep 18 hours a day and I laughed at him, since C was maybe sleeping 12 if you include cat naps here and there. So, maybe she is just older and can sleep longer? Tell me if I'm just being nutso and should relax!
