We use flushable liners and just dump the diaper into the toilet, no spraying!

I'm a huge fan of cloth diapering. We've saved so much money and I really don't find it very time consuming at all.

Oh, and I would recommend getting a couple of different brands of diapers (All-in-ones if you are going for easy), trying them out for a few weeks, and then stocking up on your favorite and selling off the ones you don't love as much!

Everybody is going to have a different favorite diaper. A lot depends on the way it fits your particular baby.

just start!! I don't have a sprayer, I just swish. It's really not that bad, I promise. Do you have a local cloth diaper store or group where you could go see some of the options?

Order from a website that allows a trial period, like Nikki's diapers, and start off with a few different ones. Or just look for good deals on used diapers and buy a bunch right off the bat.

At 7 months, we nearly exclusively use BumGenius 4.0 and on a typical weekday we go through 5 diapers during the day and 1 diaper overnight (we actually use a fitted plus cover for overnight as my daughter kept leaking through all of the pocket ones overnight). I need about 20 diapers to be able to send 4 diapers to daycare, keep two spare diapers at daycare, wash every two days, and give time to line dry the shells (although you could put in dryer depending on brand and your own preference).

We are doing BLW so DD isn't actually swallowing a lot of solids yet. If her diaper looks chunky I will swish it....and I just bought a cheap spatula intended to be dedicated to diaper scraping.

Our lo isn't here yet but I like the idea of the trial at Jillian's drawers. They send you some aio, pockets and prefolds with a cover and let you try them for 21 days. The trial only costs $10 which you could easily save during that time.

ETA: it looks like the "catch" is with both the Nicki's and Jillian's drawers that you wind up with a store credit and not cash back since you pay the cost of the diapers.

I am now CDing two kids and it really isnt too bad! Researching CDs online is extremely overwhelming. I watched for sales and bought a few different kinds (probably about 10). I found which ones I like and surprisingly, the cheapos are my favorites! And the poop thing isnt all that bad. I should add that we use dispoasables at night and while were out of the house.

You don't have to do cloth diapering 100% of the time right out of the gate, especially as your're trying to determine what works for you.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have gone with an all in one system, rather than covers and liners, but that's just me.
