What do you do for baths when you travel with your LO? R still uses her FP Whale of a Tub. Should I look into a bath seat for her that's more portable? Or just get in the tub with her? What did you do?

We had an inflatable tub but easy to get in the tub too. If they're sitting up you can lay down a towel for traction.

We bathed her in the sink before she could sit by herself, then just used the tub after.

We used the sink when we traveled at 3-5 months and an inflatable duck tub ($15 at Target) when we traveled at 7 months.

We put a thick towel on the bottom of the bath, fill the tub with just an inch of water or so, and kind of do a sponge bath. We used an inflatable when he could sit up.

@juliem: she's just so slippery that I get worried. Plus we will be traveling with my ILs and I've heard my MIL tell the story where my FIL dropped my BIL in the bathtub as a baby too many times.

We started bathing with him at a young age and still do!

I got in the tub with her and Dh helped clean her and wrap her up after. But we only gave her one bath while we were away anyway. We were flying so no way we were bringing an extra thing.
ETA: She was 5 months at the time.

Inflatable duck tub! It's $11 at Target. Worked like a charm when we traveled a few months ago.

I held him in the shower. But after reading this thread I really wish I had an inflatable tub. It was a pain because he was so slippery and he hated it!

Ask the hotel, they might have one. When we are in Hawaii we got a tub, pack n play and j&j shampoo packet.

I second the inflatable duck tub (Munchkin brand, I think). It is perfect for travel and much more compact to take along than a bath seat.

Depending on the type of trip and where we're staying, we either just took the tub or I would climb in the tub and just hold them in my lap.

We had an inflatable one, but I've also used the sink when traveling.

I used to get in the bath with my daughter. That way I could hold onto her, and it felt much safer that way. DH was on hand, so I could hand her off when she was all clean. Otherwise, I would lay a soft bathmat down, and wrap her up in a towel on the mat while I was getting out myself.

We put a towel on the bottom of the tub and just filled with a bit of water and let him kick around like that.
Or if we stayed at hotel with no tub, I'd shower with him

After a few months, laziness prevailed and I started putting down a hand towel for his head and letting him lay in the tub with an inch or two of water and splash around.

Get in or just laid her down in a little water. Usually just got on. She wasn't as slippery as I thought!

When we traveled to my parents house at 3.5 months, we put a towel in the bottom of the tub so it wasn't so slippery and bathed her that way (with two people, so one could hold on and one could wash). All the other times we have traveled, one of us (usually my husband) will take DD into the shower.
I have a weird fear of hotel bathtubs and would not have wanted to put DD in one (I trust my parent's tub because my mom is a neat freak).
