It's been 2 1/2 weeks since I had a treadmill desk installed in my home office:

It took some time for me to get comfortable with standing all day, but it all got a lot easier once I figured out I needed to wear nice running shoes. I'm starting to walk more than 10k steps a few days a week, with the occasional day now and then where I will get closer to 20k. Ideally I'd like to walk 15k steps a day, but I'm not yet at that point. I did have one day where I walked almost 8 miles, which felt great.

Physically, I've been disappointed by the results: I've only lost 3.2 pounds in the last two weeks or so despite all this effort. That's waaay less than I had thought I would lose by standing and walking all day! But I guess this whole process of getting fit is going to take some time. Plus I probably need to adjust my diet; I have this problem where when I'm working out, I feel like I can eat whatever I want because I'm working out. Obviously self-defeating, so I'll have to adjust.

Overall, I feel like I'm on progress towards becoming more fit. I've done a million diets before, but this is the first time I've integrated exercise into my daily life. It's pretty sneaky because I'm addicted to work and now the only way I can work is by walking on a treadmill all day. I may have outsmarted my own lazy self!

Next up is muscle. How do I add muscles to my upper body without going to the gym... do I have to (heaven forbid) do pushups? Any other ideas?
