Today is day 12 of my luteal phase. Days 1-7 were consistently around 97.6 and then days 8-11 they raised to 98.2 and this morning (day 12) I had a slight drop to 97.9. I thought i was for sure pregnant, seeing as I usually don't get a triphasic chart, but the temperature drop is disappointing. Does this sound like my period is on its way? Has anyone else been pregnant with a slight drop like this? Am i reading too much into this????

I think it's not over until it's over! I've seen pregnancy charts where the temps were ALL OVER THE PLACE. So as long as it's still above the coverline and AF hasn't shown her face, you've still got a chance! Have you thought about testing?

I had a triphasic chart the month before my BFP (which surprised me as I didn't think I had good timing that month - so I wasn't surprised that I wasn't actually pregnant). That was my only triphasic month - including not being triphasic when I was pregnant.

what is considered the cover line? is that the temp prior to ovulation?
i havne't tested yet. I didn't test positive with my son until the day after my missed period. I had 2 negative tests 2 and 3 days before my missed period so I'm trying to hold off on the testing for now. I was so bummed this morning when my temp had dropped a little to 97.9,
i guess its not over until my period comes.....

@linds22: What were your temps prior to ovulation? Your coverline is usually somewhere between your pre-ovulation temps and your post-ovulation temps, but I'm not sure how it's calculated. I chart my temps in Fertility Friend, so it calculates my coverline for me!
But since you mentioned your post-ovulation temps have been between 97.6 and 98.2, your temp of 97.9 sounds like it's still well above where your coverline would be. It's not over until it's over!! Fingers crossed for you!

I definitely don't think you're out. It could be an implantation dip, or it could just be a random little blip in your temps. I was actually just looking at pregnancy charts on FF (sigh. someone stop me!), and quite a few of them have temps that are just all over the place.

If you sign up for FF, they have galleries upon galleries of other people's chart you can look at! Just filter so that you are only looking at triphasic charts that resulted in pregnancy.
The thing I learned about looking at so many different chart is that everyone's different and some weird looking temps still end up w/ pregnancy! Good luck!

I think my chart when I got my BFP is sort of what you were describing? I might be misreading. I included a picture.
ETA: My slight temp drop was on day 9, but it jumped right back up. Also, we don't usually BD that often (and by usually, I mean EVER)... it was our guns blazing cycle.

@linds22: have you taken a HPT? That's the best way to know.

@littlek i haven't taken a pregnancy test yet, seeing as i got 2 negative tests with my son, even when I actually was pregnant. I'm due for my period on Sunday, so I guess its just a waiting game now!
I have been feeling achy and a little nauseated lately, so i thought those were signs of pregnancy, however now i'm wondering if i'm getting sick! No fever yet though.... -

@linds22: My personal experience with charting is that I would have a great chart and then AF would show up and my temp would plummet. I really only used charting to confirm ovulation.

@linds22: My guess is if your temp goes up tomorrow, that's a good sign. If it stays the temp or goes lower, AF may be approaching.

@linds22: Is the BD you put in accurate? Because it looks you hit 0-8 and 0-7 and then after 0. Normally peak is 0-3, 0-2, 0-1 and 0.

no it wasn't correct. Here is the updated chart. I use Kindara to track my temps so I was switching my info over to fertility friend.com and some of the information didn't get transferred. we hit o-3, 0-2, 0-1 this cycle before my husband went out of town on day o for work.

What @littlek: said - you'll probably be able to know better tomorrow, whether your temp goes up or down. How long is your LP usually? Have you been temping/charting before this cycle?

@lindsayinny, i have been charting, never before getting a triphasic result. LP is usually 13-14 days.
@littleK that didn't transfer either. Its 97.5 for day 5 -
@linds22: there's no real way to know if you are pregnant today besides a HPT. I'd wait and see if your temps keep rising.. You could also consider asking for a blood test if HPTs don't work for you. Good luck!

You are just as likely to get a triphasic chart and not be pregnant! In fact, I had several triphasic non-pregnant cycles, including one that continued high temps for several days into my period before finally dropping (NOT COOL, body!). When I did get my BFP my temp did not rise to that third level until 4 days after my BFP.
Good luck! I know you're going to analyze everything regardless of what anyone says (at least that's what I always did), so I hope you can test soon!

98.0 this morning! If I was to going to get my period, would my temp just keep dropping? I'm so mad I forgot to buy a HPT yesterday. I will have to pick one up today

I tested yesterday evening before going out with my husband for drinks and dinner and it was negative. Temp today is 98.4 and I'm due for my period today. We'll see!

After a triphasic chart with a late period last month that got my hopes up last month (AF started two days late), I gave up charting. I did cheat this month and temped the day I usually ovulate and the day after to confirm, but now giving up. I think temping in the LP is a good way to make yourself crazy. FX for you!

Well, its cycle day 31 and still no period. ALSO no positive HPT (took one this morning and it was negative). Not quite sure what is going on. I contacted my dr and they don't do blood pregnancy tests until 14 days after your missed period. So i guess i just keep waiting???

@linds22: I would agree with @Mrs.Someone: that you could have 'O'd on CD22 rather than CD14

@linds22: Its possible that your body tried to O then, but it didn't work out for some reason, and O'd later. Unfortunately, CM isn't a "for sure" method of tracking O, and its very unlikely that an HPT wouldn't be positive by 17dpo. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you!

@linds22: Don't get discouraged, even if it was CD22 it looks like your BD timing was still pretty good and you would only by 9DPO so still plenty of time to get a
i guess its not over until my period comes.....
