So this is entirely a problem of my own making, but since ds came home we've used an exercise ball to bounce him to sleep and calm him when he is upset. I think on our hardest day I clocked 15 hours on the ball. He is now 11 weeks old and nothing -NOTHING- else works to put him to sleep. We've made a little progress finding alternatives to calm him when he is fussy, though we still turn to the ball, but he won't rock to sleep, walk to sleep or even nurse to sleep. I don't want to just replace one bad habit with another, but he is 16 pounds and my back just can't take it. So I'd even be happy to sub in something less physically demanding. Though laying him down awake but drowsy remains the impossible dream.
Anyone else have a bounce-aholic? What did you do?
it's nothing to do with the baby whisperer so I'm not sure why they call it that lol!
and now he sleeps 5 hour stretches at night and minimum 45 minute naps! it's changed our lives!
The concept of him being in his bed and not screaming seemed ludicrous to us!!
