Back from vacation! It was nice and relaxing and I'm actually quite glad I wasn't pregnant for it. I'm supposed to ovulate in a few days and we have yet to do anything at all so no high hopes for this cycle but I'm hoping we can at least attempt.

@MrsDragon: welcome back! I'm glad you had a relaxing vacation. Good luck this cycle. Hope you get at least one good attempt in!

@delight: Thinking of you today.
@MrsDragon: Glad you had a nice vacation! I am really looking forward to mine next month. I was originally sort of bummed but am now also glad that I won't be pregnant at that point. Good luck this week!

@MrsDragon: welcome back from holidays! I'm going to be doing the same soon - need to sort out a bit of health stuff with DH & I (general detox basically) before we start ttc again. Tough to wait but I know it's the best thing to do everything we can to have a nice healthy pregnancy!!
@delight: crossing my everything for you! Hope this week doesn't take forever for you - keep us posted.

@Nutella: thanks. Worst TWW ever!! At least we are busy with family this weekend for Easter.
Am I silly for holding on to hope though? 7w and empty gestational sac. That's not good.

@delight: Did I see somewhere that you have a tilted uterus? If so, it probably makes sense to hold on to hope. Also, was the gestational sac measuring on track? With my blighted ovum, mine was much too small. I'm still thinking about you and hoping you get good news soon!

@delight: I saw another thread where a poster told you a success story about an empty sac early on and the baby caught up. Hope that's the case for you!!
pomelo / 5326 posts
@Shantuck: yes I do have a tilted uterus. My sac was measuring within a couple of days of LMP so was the right size.
@winniebee: I have definitely read stories where these situations turn out positive. This is pretty similar to what happened to be in October though and even then I had a yolk and fetal pole and this time I don't. It's hard to keep the faith but I'm trying.

@delight: Im so sorry you are still stuck in limbo. I don't think there is anything bad about holding on to hope. I keep thinking I have terrible luck baby wise and am in the clear minority, and keep hoping that one of these days I'll be in the good minority. We have to get a bit of good sometimes, right? (At least I really really hope so). If you are struggling, I'll be hopeful for you.
@Nutella: what are you doing to detox?
@MrsDragon: vacation sounds so nice! Welcome back. A mental health break is so important.
I should O tomorrow. It's my third round of Clomid, last time it only took 2. I really really hope this is it.

@Crystal: I am totally In the mindset that I deserve good luck this time. It's just been disappointment after disappointment for the past 18 months. I hate being a downer because I do fortunately have a healthy DD but ever since her I haven't caught a break. Here's hoping we both catch a bit of luck.
persimmon / 1045 posts
@Crystal: hi! We went to see a naturopath who is a big fan of cleaning out both parents' systems for 6-8w before 'allowing' them to ttc. She gave us a green powdered supplement to take daily (we mix with water & drink in the AM), but also cutting way back on caffeine and alcohol - my DH loves both these things so he's struggling a bit! Also reducing sugar & eating two serves of greens for folate daily. And eating protein 3x daily. Lunch is my slackest meal but I'm working on it.
She also topped up my vitamins so I'm on a new multivitamin which has lots of Bs, so hoping I get more energy soon!
I so hope this month is it for you too!!
@delight: I never think hope is a bad thing! I can't wait for your luck to turn.

@Nutella: If you're interested, I have a diet hand out that my acupuncturist gave me that I followed and that I do think helped me. Happy to share it if you want (and to anybody else who's interested).

@Shantuck: I would love to see it!
@delight: I understand how draining all the disappointment can be. You definitely deserve some good luck!
@Nutella: lunch is hardest for me too, especially with protein. im so glad dh is doing it with you. ️

Thanks everyone! I'm still in that sluggish trying to keep up with the real world after being away phase -- been thinking of everyone here a lot. ️
We got two chances to DTD before O-day (mostly guessing at that based on past cycles). I'm going out of town for the second week of my TWW and am NOT bringing any pregnancy tests. I'll be home the day before my period arrives so if I can hold out I won't drive myself nuts like last time.

I'd like to join this group for a little support, understanding, and comraderie during trying times.
Date of loss: Chemical in November and another loss this month. No HB on our first u/s at 8 weeks at the beginning of March. Baby stopped growing around 6 weeks. Still waiting on the miscarriage that never ends. Taken 2 rounds of cytotec and it's been about 6 weeks. Still tissue left, but the doc is not recommending a d&c. Instead being put on birth control for a month to help force a period.
How long are you waiting to TTC again: hopefully after this one month of birth control I'll be set to go.
Any kids: no
How are you feeling? Frustrated, impatient, hopeful, depends on the day.

Here's the diet that my acupuncturist had/has me on: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1OR-GYGDpbScl9jSDhRT2U1Ukk/view?usp=sharing
The first few pages are the general rules and the last few are specific food recommendations during the various phases of your cycle (limited meat intake during your period, etc.). The biggest adjustments for me were cutting out sugar (substituted honey when something needed sweetening), cutting out flour (ate only sprouted grain breads), and eating mostly all dark meat (dark meat chicken and turkey and beef rather than chicken breast or turkey breast).
Also, according to my acupuncturist, I had a kidney yang deficiency which means I run cold so I only drank warm or tepid drinks. I was actually allowed to have a couple glasses of wine on the weekends but it had to be red wine since it needed to not be cold and not high in added sugar. Anyway, if anybody wants to try this and has questions, I'm happy to help

@Mmayo: Welcome but sorry for the circumstances that brought you here. I'm sorry you are stuck in miscarriage limbo. Hope your period returns soon and you can start to move on. I remember how anxious I was after my D&C in December for my cycle to start again. It's a lot for a body to take.
pomelo / 5326 posts
@Mmayo: welcome to our group and I am so sorry you are here. I also had a mc that went on forever in October. Three rounds of cytotec and many scans later, they finally said everything looked clear. I was against having a D&C but I know they wanted me to have one. It took me 6 weeks before my HCG was <5 and another week or so to get AF. Good luck to you. I wish you all the best when you TTC again.

@Mmayo: hi, so sorry for your losses I hear you on the different days bringing different emotions. Lots of good vibes your way for the next month
persimmon / 1045 posts
@Shantuck: thanks so much. I have been indulging in Easter eggs so this a timely reminder do you grow your own sprouted bread? That always seems next level commitment to me, but I regularly hear how bad the processes flour in regular bread is...so I'm open to new ideas. How do you organise yourself for lunches/dinners? Do you meal plan on the weekend? I'm a bit out of practice with food admin 🙄 Thanks again!
persimmon / 1045 posts
@Mmayo: pS: I had to wait about 6 weeks for post/D&c period to arrive so it was a long wait. Hang in there!
pear / 1767 posts
@Nutella: I don't make my own sprouted grain bread. With a full time job and a 3 year old at home, I was just lucky to be able to make it to the health food grocery (Whole Foods). I was also fortunate to find a few restaurants that had rule compliant food options (brown rice plates with veggies and dark meat chicken, etc.) so I could eat out for lunch most days. I generally meal plan but don't do much weekend prep other than shopping. At the local health food store, I was able to find substitutes for most of the things I would normally eat like spelt or whole wheat pasta with pasta sauce that was just tomatoes and spices (no added sugar). I also ate a lot of black beans with rice, black bean soup, turkey burgers with sprouted grain buns, etc. It sounds totally boring but it wasn't that bad once I got into my groove.

@Mmayo: Welcome and sorry for your losses. Waiting for that first cycle is so frustrating. Best of luck this month.

I've been lurking on this thread for a while now. It's taken me a while to process a miscarriage that seemingly lasted forever back in December.
Date of loss : December 7th. Started bleeding at 5 weeks and had multiple ultrasounds and blood tests, and then 2 rounds of cyrotec starting at 7 weeks, which ultimately forced a miscarriage at 9 weeks, 2 days before a scheduled D&C .
I have a 2 year old son who was embarrassingly easy to conceive, so this is an entirely new process to me.
We started trying again in February.
I feel better than I have been the past few months. I was extremely angry for most of December and January but now I'm OK for the most part, except for the sadness I feel when others post their ultrasound pictures on Facebook .

@Tanjowen: Our stories are very similar. I had a m/c in January, two rounds of cytotec, but I had to have a D&C for retained tissue. I have a two year old as well, that was conceived on the first try. I saw a friend this weekend who was pregnant, and would have been due 1 week away from my due date. She was complaining a bit about being pregnant and tired, and then asked if we were planning on having another. I came so close to telling her about my loss, and that she should be happy about those pregnancy symptoms, but it wasn't the right setting to go there..
We are trying again this month, which makes me both excited and scared.

@Shantuck: @MrsDragon: @Nutella: @delight: @catlady: thanks guys, I know it's the club no one wants to join.
Got a bill today for the 3 ultrasounds I've had so far to confirm miscarriage/remaining tissue. Hoping I don't need many more since it seems like an extra punch in the gut to have to pay for all those. I promptly poured myself a large glass of red wine.

Chiming in to say I'm cheering so hard for you ladies. It can be so difficult to stay positive after a loss. We had an early loss prior to my current pregnancy, so I know a little bit about some of what you're going through. My thoughts and prayers with each of you, especially as it gets closer to due dates.

@Tanjowen: I also have a 2-year-old that was one of those 'we weren't even really trying' stories. Lots of love to you!

Ladies, I don't even know how to feel. DH and I were purposely skipping the last two cycles so that we could enjoy our trip to Florida next month without me having to worry about morning sickness or a loss while traveling or zika. We have used protection all month but AF is a couple days late so I took a test to ease my mind...
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@catlady: OH my!!! Congratulations!!
(Ps - my OB approved my trip to Grand Cayman next month....she said as long as no Zika there ok to go, wear deet, and don't go on hikes in rain foresty areas).
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
I lurk and am hoping for positive updates from everyone all the time

@Tanjowen: @oskarsmommy: also have a two year old relatively easily conceived (not first go or anything but still!) - good luck to you both!
@catlady: wow, congrats!! Wait, so this was a bfp despite using protection this month?! Amazing!

@oskarsmommy: @delight: Thank you!
@winniebee: @Shantuck: Good to know about Zika. I know Florida should be safe but we wanted to be extra cautious. Oops.
@Nutella: Yup, using condoms all month and they didn't break or anything. No idea how it happened.
I honestly didn't really believe it after last night so I took two more tests this morning. Both definitely positive. DH and I are in shock. I don't think either of us have really wrapped our heads around it yet.

@oskarsmommy: @Tanjowen: Good luck to both of you, and sorry for your losses. I have a 2 year old as well. Hope this month is good to you both.
