I'm also 36 and waiting on my AMH results currently, so I've been reading up on it. My understanding is that a low AMH result alone does not necessarily indicate a problem. Other results also come in to play. Ovarian reserve may be low but quality may still be good. I think the fact that you have conceived twice is a good thing. I'm not an expert by any means, but I know how stressful it is. Hopefully someone that has come out on the other side will chime in soon.

@Spinny: quality is definitely important. That’s what I’m relying on since I have so few eggs lol

It's def possible for you to conceive. It will just take longer. At this point it is a quality issue. So I'd just try to dtd during your fertile window each cycle and it'll eventually happen hopefully

I am in a similar boat. I conceived naturally twice with an AMH of 0.3 and 0.2 and all my other charts off the charts bad. I did have one m/c. There is emerging research that claims AMH and FSH might not be the best predictors of fertility so don't lose hope. Don't beat yourself up about not being able to afford IVF, most diminished ovarian reserve ladies don't respond well to IVF and it can be a waste of money.
I am with an RE and we are just doing clomid and Ovidrel (this summer) and maybe an IUI. In my case it's just a matter of time (might be a long time )

I'm another person with a low AMH who successfully conceived. When I was 35, my AMH was 0.79 and my FSH was 13. The RE I saw told me I had the ovaries of a 42 year old and said I would have less than a 1% chance of getting pregnant (side note: I was later told by another RE that I saw for a postpartum condition that my AMH wasn't that low for my age and that it took me a normal amount of time (14 months) to get pregnant with a sticky baby at that age). I didn't have IVF coverage on my insurance plan at the time so I decided to try a more natural route until I could switch insurance plans and did acupuncture and a special diet my acupuncturist put me on. I ended up conceiving my daughter naturally 3 months after starting the diet and acupuncture. I'm now trying for number 3 with presumably even lower numbers since I'm now 38. I did get pregnant naturally in October at 37 but ended up with a miscarriage in December. I've been told that with my numbers, getting pregnant is going to be a game of persistence.

I think the only way you can tell the quality of your eggs is if you do IVF. There tends to be a presumption that if you are advanced maternal age and have low AMH and high FSH, then you are dealing with poorer quality eggs. I also recommend the book "It Starts With The Egg" by Rebecca Fett. There are lots of things you can do to improve what you've got.
