@GreenThumb: I have been getting confused because there are two people with your screen name. The other one is "Green Thumb" with a space. Just wanted to let you know in case you didn't already...

@Mrs Green Grass: Oh no, thanks for letting me know! That is confusing!! I wonder if I should change mine?

@GreenThumb: I only noticed because my name has green in it too and I knew that the other Green Thumb has already had a baby and got confused when I saw TTC posts! I think you might want to so that you can be you : )

I've been staying away from most TTC threads to save my sanity, but I'll give a little update:

Cycle 19 (Clomid CD3-7, Estrace CD8-10, Hcg Trigger CD11, IUI CD12) - so just waiting it out over here in SoCal...

@SSLM- My fingers are crossed for you!

Unfortunately, my update is depressing me haha. I am CD31 with no sign of O or AF. I thought I had O'd CD 21, but I think it was a fluke in my temps. Another long cycle it is!

I have a serious problem. I actually POAS at 5 dpo... *sigh*...

@sslm: haha, I don't blame you! I seriously want to (6 DPO today) and the only thing holding me back is the fact that I only have THREE tests, and they're the expensive digital ones! hahaha. I need to get some cheap dollar-store ones so I can test everyday!

@arielle9510: I feel bummed out about my long cycles as well. Although I'm only at CD 23, so you've got a really long cycle. Hang in there!

@sslm: It's hard not to test. I drove myself crazy testing everyday last month. It was so disappointing when AF showed up. I hope this is your month!

@Adira: Well, hopefully now I can hold off until at least Saturday (9 dpo) like I was supposed to. Even better, I'm hoping to wait until 14DPO.

@adira @mrskc: i guess still a chance... i took a $ store test yesterday BFN. target brand EPT today BFN. I have a clear blue digital but dont want to waste it. So I'm just going to wait for AF ... I have a feeling she's coming with a vengeance in the next few days.

  15. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@mrsjyw: You're only 11 DPO though, right? When does AF usually show up for you? It could still be too early to test, but I'd wait until AF was late to test again I think.

  16. mrsjyw

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts

@Adira: I have a long-ish cycle that averages 36 days. I usually O on CD 22... and AF shows two weeks later... which means tom - Friday she'll be here... Today is CD 11/12 (I think it's CD 12) yea no more testing until the wknd.

AF due today, but not having my usual half-dead day, and haven't had my usual spotting. Took a digital test today - BFN. Ah well. Few more days to wait. Not a huge loss if it didn't happen this time - timing would be terrible. Timing won't be a WHOLE lot better for the next 2-3 cycles either. Much more relaxing. (I'd love to be pregnant, don't get me wrong. But it's no big loss if this isn't THE cycle.)

  22. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@cyneswith: That's kind of nice that you can be relaxed for the next couple cycles. Maybe that will make it happen!!! When will you test again if you don't see AF? Definitely keep us posted!

@Mrs Green Grass: I've been following your story on WB and am glad to see you here. I really hope this is your month! Sending you baby dust!
@mrsjyw: you're not out until AF shows! wait it out. good luck!

@Adira: Will be testing again on Thursday or Friday, if I can hold out and AF doesn't show. Last cycle MIGHT have been off due to the holidays, so I may just be expecting AF too early. And it's nice to have the lack of pressure.

OMG! You guys don't even know how excited I am right now! I finally got a positive OPK!!

I took one of the cheap ones tonight and the test line was almost as dark as the control. I decided to try the digital test, and it gave me a smiley!!! Finally! After almost two weeks of taking OPKs, I finally got a positive. CD 23 today. I should O within the next two days. I have a shorter LP, so AF should show up around 2/14.

Now time to go get my BD on!

@mrskc: yaaay! I'm on day 3 of taking OPKs, and cannot wait to get my first smiley face too. so excited for you, lady!

@MRSKC- Yay! I took a wondfo yesterday afternoon for "fun" and there was a second line. Not as dark as the control line but I took one later that night and it was darker so I'm going to keep taking them until I get a positive! Hoping it's soon! I actually WANT the TWW so bad!!

Is anyone else keeping TTC a secret from everyone? We aren't telling anyone and it's already so hard not to mention it. I really want to tell my sister but we're keeping it quiet. I don't know how long it'll last!!!!

    @sylvie_b: @sslm: @oliviaoblivia: @Adira: Thanks ladies!

@arielle9510: Thank you! Sounds promising. I bet you'll get a full positive soon. I know what you mean about the TWW. I'm so happy to finally be in one.

  34. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@sslm: when we first started trying we wanted to keep it a secret. Then I got pregnant and we told all our friends and family and then I miscarried. Unfortunately everyone knows we're trying. At least no one wants to ask me about it. We had told people we were going to wait a few years. We just didn't want to feel any pressure.

Good luck to you! Maybe it'll happen quick and you won't have to keep it secret for long.

  35. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@sslm: I've told my two best friends and I talk to them about it ALL the time. I'm probably sooooooo annoying to them. "We had sex last night! Maybe this is it!!!" But I'm soooooo bad at keeping secrets, so if I don't have someone to confide in, I would end up telling my family (or the world) that we're TTC, and I really don't want that.

My husband's parents are really pressuring us to hurry up and have kids, so I'm sure they'd be thrilled to know that we're trying, but I'm worried that it might take a while to get pregnant so I really don't want them to know that we're trying. They would just ask about it ALL THE TIME and drive me crazy.

@Mrs Green Grass: good luck to you!!! I hope this is your month too. I also have been shying away from ttc boards for mental sanity. (yet, i can't completely stay away cause I miss everyone and their updates!)
@mrsjyw: I hope AF stays away!!!!!!!!! I have no idea when I'm due for AF or for testing. I thought it was due last weekend, but it never came, and now maybe I have to time it from the mid-cycle spotting. agh.
@sslm: @Adira: I am soooo bad at secrets!!! I have told: my three best friends, who I KNOW I am driving crazy with my ttc abbreviations and updates. I also told another friend that shared HER ttc journey with me. And I told three work friends, also probably sick of me, ha ha. And my family. And my in-laws. So I guess, the whole world?

  37. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@MrsLilybugg: haha, yeah, I think really the whole world knows about me too. Besides family, who definitely don't know anything. But last year I told ALL my friends and half my coworkers that we wanted to have kids in 2012 so... I think they know what's going on now, haha.

So here is a long update
I called my doctor's office to talk about my bleeding a few days after my OPK gives me a positive. They referred me to a GYN and I saw her Monday. I read her profile and she was listed as specializing in Infertility, so that made me feel confident. Even though her department isn’t the infertility dept, at least she has background knowledge. She was VERY nice and made me feel at ease. I showed her my calendar and she was impressed with all of my notes: Cycle start and end dates, symptoms (such as my left ovary aching when I have a positive OPK), dates of BDing, etc. Because I only got off the pill three months ago, she feels that this explains my irregularity and she is pretty confident that by April I should return to normal cycles. Especially because I’d told her that before the pill I was regular. She did order a thyroid test because it runs in the family and this could also be an explanation. (I looked up my blood work results and ran them by my nurse sister and she says they are fine. Waiting for the official call though.) Dr. was glad that I was being proactive about my concerns and didn’t feel that I had to wait the typical year of trying to raise these issues with her. She also wants my DH to get a semen analysis (he does partake in smoking habits that are known to decrease sperm motility), just in case there’s an issue there and they can “ship me out to infertility clinic quicker if need be”. We’ve run into a snafu there because his doctor is in a small private practice and had no idea what to tell DH when he requested an SA. “I have never dealt with infertility and have no idea what I’m looking at. Try calling MGH and seeing a urologist. No I can’t give a referral.” *face plant on desk*. Now I have to help fight this battle with DH. I called a fertility clinic in my home area and they will do an SA, which is relatively cheap and may even be covered by insurance, but ONLY with a work order from his primary care physician. Who is apparently clueless. He’ll have to call him again soon and try this again. OK that’s my long story of the month, ha!

@sslm: My sister knows and my only co-worker knows. I would talk all day about it if I could, but I'm afraid it will take us a long time and I don't want the pressure!

@MrsLilybugg: is your AF really a week late? that would drive me bonkers!
