my DH is pretty excited about TTC, and i try to keep him updated and involved on things like my cycle and how i'm feeling, to keep him feeling involved. we haven't gotten our BFP yet, but he keeps discussing when we have babies, etc.

although, he was the one who brought up initially being ready to TTC, so that might have something to do with his excitement level

My husband was pretty much like yours. It finally came down to my turning 30 and saying that I didn't really want to leave it too long just in case we ran into fertility issues. I told him it could take months... or years, even. Well, it happened after the first try so now he jokingly says that I tricked him.

Although he is pretty excited now, I can honestly say he didn't really "get it" until my belly started to grow (so for me, like 20 weeks or so). With every tangible milestone (ultrasounds, knowing the baby is kicking, seeing the growth, etc.) he gets more into it. I don't think it's all that unusual for men to process things that way, though. At least I hope not!

@Adira: I just chalk it up to his English sense of humor! And I always remind him that when TTC that's the chance you take-- you just never know

DH and I took turns with baby fever the past year before actually TTC. Now that we are about to start cycle 3... he's anxious to get pregnant... but at all obsessive like I am... he just listens to the lil tid bits I tell him and has been learning about the process here and there... He's definitely excited to be a daddy. He hung out with his best friend's son the other night and came home super amped about wanting kids...

@Adira: My husband was complaining about the thermometer this morning! haha I just bought one and it beeps pretty loud. I don't think he'd tell me to stop though.

He's pretty excited about TTC. He doesn't always show it, and I think I'm more obsessive than him, but I know he wants a kid. He was actually ready TTC before me. He just never told me because he didn't want me to feel pressure. (I'm 7 years younger than him) As soon as I mentioned having a baby, he was very excited and ready to start right away.

We aren't even officially TTC until the 15th and he's already reading "What to expect when your wife's expecting" on his NOOK lol It's the cutest thing. He asked me last night if I had lots of cravings the first two times I was pregnant.
Since we've never had a child together and he's never had one at all it's really comforting and sweet to me that he's just as excited about this journey together as I am.

My husband is really excited for us to TTC. My brother in law is more laid back in general and he never really showed a ton of excitement - but he is a GREAT dad.

I've heard people say that a woman becomes a mother in her mind the day she learns she's pregnant, but a man doesn't become a dad in his mind until the baby is born. Maybe it's similar with the TTC phase?

Mine is also rather ambivalent. Actually it was a big struggle because he said he didn't care. Then I was pregnant &
Miscarried, and he did start to get a little more excited. As of now I try to not talk about it all the time, just doing the BD all the time!

DH would talk about it more than I would. We arent TTC anymore. But he would always bring up "When you are pregnant...." or things about the baby rooms. Toys/themes. Stuff like that.

Yup, he is excited. His best friend and wife are expecting so he's hoping we get pregnant soon so our kids can play together.
