We don't plan on TTC until this fall but I finished my last pack of BC yesterday and I don't think I'll get a refill. My DH always uses backup protection anyways since I frequently forget to take the pill at the same time.
How soon before TTC did you stop BC?

I went off BC and started TTC right away. That was per my doctor. She told me that I didn't need to go off it months before. I seem to have regulated right away too. On cycle #3.

I did the same as @Smurfette. Went off BC and started TTC right away. I've heard that some women are super fertile immediately after stopping BC, so I was hoping that would work for me.

I went off BC at the end of January and we were going to wait until April-ish to start TTC. However, we got excited and started trying right away. My cycles were really long after BC, but I got my BFP on cycle #3 (4.5 months after stopping BC).

I went off in March and we started TTC the following January. I went off due to side affects it was causing me, we used condoms until we were ready to pull the goalie.

We eliminated BC (Mirena) in October and started TTC in March.

Stopped BCP in the beginning of April, will start trying in August. I was worried about how long it would take me to get regular, since I went on the pill about 8 years ago because I was so irregular, plus I was having more and more side effects and was just sick of taking it. I'm happy that I have more of a handle on my real cycles now that I've been off it for 2.5 cycles, but having to use other protection is annoying! We chart/POM/condoms, so avoiding, but not super duper careful.

I stopped taking the pill 6 months prior to TTC. I had heard its takes some people alot of time to regulate after stoping.

@Adira: That is what my doctor said. She thinks you are the first 3 months. I am hoping she is right and #3 is it for us!

I went off at the end of May, and is currently on my first period post-BC! We plan on starting TTC in August. My first cycle after BC was 29 days - which I was strangely proud of - i was ready to expect very irregular cycles since I've been on BC for about 10 years.

@Smurfette: I heard the same too, which is why I went off right when we started TTC. No luck yet though.

I went off of BC and then we TTC 3 months later. It was by choice...I wanted to see what my period was like post-BC in terms of regularity.

My PCP recommeded to give ourselves 2 months post BCP, just to make sure that everything went back to normal, and I could start on the prenatals. That way if I didn't "regulate" she could do some investagating with out us having to wait 6 months.
After one full cycle, I saw my new OBGYN, and she said that my first cycle was great, and we got the go ahead for this month. We are still waiting until next month to officially start though.

@Smurfette: I hope that that works out for you!!! It didn't for me, but I know of a bunch of women here that it worked for, so I think the odds are in your favor!

Took BC out (Mirena) in Feb and started right away. On cycle 4

I stopped BC about a year before we planned on TTC. We didn't start TTC until a year and a half after stopping BC.

I took my last pill in Oct and we were basically NTNT right away, and then TTC the next month.
