Oh man, I can't believe I didn't see this thread until now! My lily-white, redhead self LOVES the golden age of rap. Public Enemy, Run DMC, Wu-tang, NWA, Heavy D, Coolio, Outkast, The Roots, Salt-N-Pepa, The Fugees, Easy-E, la la la love.
I'm east side and my husband is west side. We truce up in our house.
My investment banker uncle used to live in the same apartment building in NYC as Sean Combs in his Puff Daddy days. I will never forget the day my straight-laced, button-down uncle called and said, "someone just moved into my building, I think you may have heard of him.
