@Adira: I had it removed Feb 15th. Had withdraw bleeding Feb 18th through 23rd. Then spotted March 6th through the 10th. Then a normal cycle April 4th through the 9th.
AF was due May 2nd. I got all signs of AF coming but then they went away and she never came.
I just don't know. We are using OPK's daily to try and pinpoint if/when I am O'ing regardless. Just been stressful.
I will NEVER have the Mirena again.

@Crisark: Ugh, that sucks! So sorry you're dealing with that! Hopefully AF shows up soon and then you have more normal cycles afterwards! It sounds so frustrating!

@Adira: That's all I want. I'm not even upset about the BFN's anymore. I just want me normal cycles and my body back.
I was nothing but regular and like clock work before Mirena. That thing is evil.

@Crisark: Boo!!! Well, you've only had it out for three months, so let's hope that it just takes a few cycles to get back to normal and hopefully you're almost there! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that AF shows up for you soon and then you have normals cycles after that!

@Adira: I appreciate that. I hate bringing down these threads because there is so much to celebrate for so many.
It's hard to not feel like you have a place to vent or share.
I've read it can take up to 6months to get back to normal. DH and I are giving it until my birthday in Sept to either be back on track or pregnant. If neither of those has happened we will see the dr.

@Crisark: Don't worry, I think a lot of us understand. You can always vent to us. I know we're happy for our BFP buddies, but it can still be pretty depressing for the rest of us. And to not even be able to try because your cycles are wonky just makes it worse! I really hope it doesn't take six months to regulate for you! I feel the same way though - if we don't see results in six months, we want to talk to a doctor too. No sense waiting forever, right? Six months seems reasonable to me. I really hope you get to celebrate being pregnant during your birthday instead though!

@Crisark: ugh that sucks!!!! I went off the pill in July and have been completely messed up since. First cycle 35 days, then 46, 46, 55, then I got pregnant on what would have been 34 days, and now since my mc 8 weeks a go I still haven't gotten AF. BC is the devil.

    pomegranate / 3398 posts

@sslm: I do feel better knowing that others have dealt with this. I've started threads before about my cycle and don't get many responses so I just didn't know where to turn to talk about it.
I am currently on cycle day 35. I'm just tired of not knowing what's going on. It's awful.

@Crisark: I know it is an added thing, but you might think about trying acupuncture to get your cycles on track faster. I've heard a lot of stories about how acupuncture can "flush" the system of BC hormones more quickly than without anything. I've been going myself for about 3-4 months (although not due to irregular cycles) and it is a great stress reliever, too. Hope that things get back to normal for you asap!

@Crisark: I really wish your cycles were normalizing more quickly. I can't imagine how frustrated you must be.
I had a mirena for four years and my cycles came back shortly after I had it removed. Have you talked with your doctor about how wonky your cycles are?

I second the acupuncture suggestion! A close friend got preggo easily at 39 with acupuncture as her only intervention. I already started going just for support aroun fertility instead of waiting (I'm 34). Saw her cycle 2 off bc, week 2 and Od cd15 (first cycle off bc was 37 days- on it for 10 years). I'll see her again in a few weeks if I get a bfn this month.

@GreenThumb: I never thought about that as an option. I'll look into that for sure. Thank you!
@oliviaoblivia: I haven't only because I imagine her response will be to give it time. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to call and inquire but I just don't think she'll do anything for me.

@sslm: I agree. BC IS the devil. I had 30 day cycles like clockwork before BC, which was great. I came off January 2011 and my cycles are STILL screwed up. I range from 35 days to 55 days, and I blame that stupid little pill.

@redsmarties: See I've never had anything like this before with my cycles. My mom (yes I still ask my mommy lol ) thinks that if it's concerning me then I should contact the dr. I just don't want to waste a copay for her to tell me I have to keep waiting it out.

@Crisark: my doctor said that with the wacky cycles, she would be willing to send me to a specialist after 6 months. She also sent me for preliminary bloodwork. If I were you I would go and ask for Cd3 and 7dpo tests.

@Crisark: I don't think you'd be bothering your doctor to ask when you should expect your cycles to regulate. Can you just call so that you don't have to spend your copay? I actually think it might be worth the copay to get some info. I also agree that this thread isn't only for those who get BFPs. Everyone's allowed to vent too!

  22. Crisark

    pomegranate / 3398 posts

@PBandBaseball: Oh I know we are but I've been the girl who cried AF for a couple weeks now and even I'm annoyed with myself lol.
I'm not worried about the money so much as the thought that I'll get there and be told to wait.
Maybe a call in to the office explaining my concerns and they can speak with the dr and decide if I need to even come in. @sslm: I don't know what those tests are so that's good info. Thank you!

  23. sslm

    cantaloupe / 6397 posts

@Crisark: I don't know a lot about it, I only had the 21 day test because I ended up pregnant before I got to CD3. They measure hormone levels and can apparently give some good info. I think it's what most doctors do as the very first step to investigate infertility (not to say that's your issue - it's not mine but the tests are still useful I think)

  24. Crisark

    pomegranate / 3398 posts

@sslm: Well, I really appreciate that. I'm going to call in about 20min on my lunch break. If nothing else, like I said before, to have the dr asked on when/whether I even need to go in to see her. She's fantastic so I know if she thinks I should she will tell me. I am currently 6 days late with no sign of anything and it's just so annoying that this is the 3rd month of this crap.
If she tells me to stick it out 3 more months then so be it. I trust her completely.

@Crisark: Did you get any answers from your MD during your call? I hope so. That must be ReALLLLLY frustrating. Hopefully she orders bloodwork!

    pomegranate / 3398 posts

@MrsLilybugg: Well they called back and I missed it,. So, I called right back and got someone else who read whatever was in the notes that just said "Can have irregular cycles post Mirena" well yeah I know that! So, I told her my question wasn't whether the irregular cycles were normal but for how long was I to just "deal with it" until I have something done about it.
So, she's putting another note in for the DR so hopefully they will relate my question correctly so I can get a real answer. So frustrated right now!

@Crisark: AAAGGGHHHHH so annoying. It's like you're talking in circles with them. I feel your pain. We had a ridiculous situation trying to get an sa referral from my husband's M.D. (never happened!!)

@MrsLilybugg: Yeah, the first receptionist I talked to didn't seem too interested in my question so I'm not surprised that it was relayed incorrectly. The second person I talked to was way nicer and seemed to get what I was saying. *hopefully*

    @bluestriped bee: @sslm: @MrsLilybugg: @Alivoo01: @PBandBaseball: @oliviaoblivia: @Adira: Thanks for all the love ladies.
I finally talked to the PA for my DR and she and I went over my cycle issues since having Mirena removed. She said that it is common to have some irregularity (which we knew). However, I have to miss 3 cycles in a row before they will order blood work. Said to give it 6 months total to fully expect to be back to normal. If by that time things are still out of whack or I miss 3 cycles in a row before then to contact them to order the blood work. She's not concerned with long term fertility issues which makes me feel better. So, it's back to the waiting game. At least she is confident it's normal.

  35. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Crisark: Well that's good news I suppose! It's always good to hear from a professional and get some advise, even if it's just to wait. At least now you know that what you're going through isn't abnormal, just sucky! Hopefully it doesn't take as long as six months to regulate though, but at least you have a good time frame for what's considered "normal."

  36. Crisark

    pomegranate / 3398 posts

@Adira: Yep. I'm satisfied that it's "normal". Doesn't take the irritation away lol But, helps nonetheless.

  37. oliviaoblivia

    pineapple / 12793 posts

@Crisark: at least the peace of mind that it's normal is there. Still sucks to be waiting for your cycles to get back to normal though.

  38. Crisark

@oliviaoblivia: Yes it sure does. But, I am a believer that everything happens for a reason. So, I'm going to do my best to focus on that and my own well being and wait it out.

@Crisark: That kind of sucks! 3 cycles or 3 months? Either way, I hope things straighten out for you soon. I know how much it sucks to be in limbo. What are you doing to track ovulation?

@Crisark: Sorry to hear about your inconsistent cycles. I can't imagine how frustrating that must be on top of all the other frustrations of TTC. I don't really have any advice to offer, but just wanted to let you know I feel for you.
