I'm still waiting on AF, but I am with you!
Same POAS date. May 5.
I so wish we weren't here!
Cycle two trying, took off two months to avoid a wedding/due date dilemma.
So ready to be PG right now.

@oliviaoblivia: Maybe this cycle will be better for both of us! And I hear you - I am READY to be pregnant! I've told DH no slacking this month. We're BDing everyday around my expected O day. The plan is BD from April 13th to 19th (unless I see EWCM earlier, then we'll start earlier).

@Adira: We did every day this cycle, going to try every other this go around. I'm thinking about picking up PreSeed.
This past cycle was such a tease. My boobs are still so sore and HUGE!
No more symptom spotting!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@oliviaoblivia: Oh man, it must really suck when everyday doesn't work out! So far DH and I haven't been consistent with everyday, so I'm hoping that if we are, we'll get better results. That sucks about your symptoms - that's so annoying! I was symptom spotting during my first cycle and I was CONVINCED that I was pregnant! When AF showed up, it was such a huge disappointment. I refuse to symptom spot now!

i had wanted to start a thread about what people did differently the month they got their bfp when we were TTC. since u guys are talking about it i thought maybe i'd share some things we did this month. some things we tried differently this past cycle was that i was alot more strict about doing it every other day versus everyday. DH takes sleeping pills which i wasn't sure if it was affecting his spermies but i thought maybe it would help for him to build them up. and i could tell i didn't really have CM so we used preseed too. we'd been using it previous months but this time i actually waited the 15 min like they recommended. i also used the clearblue fertility monitor but i'm not sure if that helped since i was already charting and the chart were pretty accurate.
anyway i really hope u guys get ur bfp this month!!

@kodybear: Thanks for the advice! Definitely learning what people did during the month they got their BFP is helpful! DH and I have done the every-other for the most part and that hasn't worked out, which is why we're going to try every-day this time around. Do you know if you BD'd on your O day? Or did you do it the two days surrounding? I'm curious which is more important, haha.
pineapple / 12793 posts
@Adira: I was kind of surprised it didn't work. But I was also surprised that I didn't get off birth control and instantaneously fall pregnant. Ha!
I'm glad my charting seems to be clear. Though having 12 days of increasing temps does give a girl hope. (along with implantation dip, tri-phasic temps, 83 points on early preg, signs) ugh!

@Adira: no we didn't BD on the day I O'd. We did it 3 days before, then 1 day before, then the morning after. This was the first time we did it the day after O, as we usually stop after I find out I O'd.... maybe my DH's spermies don't live long enough and the egg has to be there already? (i don't even know if thats physically possible tho.. i'm just making stuff up! haha) but yah not sure which time did it. i thought for sure i was out since we didn't do it on the "peak day" like it says in TCOYF.

FWIW, The cyle we got our BFP was the first month I used the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor. Since my cycles are long, I had "high fertility" days for about 9 days followed by my 2 peak fertility days.
We BD'ed pretty much every day for a straight two weeks, with random "skip a days" (2x) in the second wk. The last time we BD'ed was my O day.

@oliviaoblivia: haha, I know what you mean. I really thought I'd just get pregnant that first month off BC! So bummed when that didn't happen! My cycle seems to be regulating and my temps seem a little more stable though, so maybe that'll improve my chances.
@kodybear: I think that's totally possible. I think the egg is around for 12-24 hours after ovulation, so if you BD'd the morning after, that probably did it for you! I'm thinking that if BDing every day doesn't work out for me, I may have to try to incorporate the morning after O to see if that helps out.
@mrsjyw: Thanks for the info! I remember reading that you BD'd almost two weeks straight and was thoroughly impressed! Hubs and I are going to try for a week straight since my cycle is pretty regular and I can guestimate when I'm going to O. Hopefully that will work for us like it did for you!

@mrsjyw, @kodybear: Congratulations to you both and thank you, thank you for the info on the cycle of your BFPs! Just knowing what works really helps!

@mrsjyw: Were you charting? I can't remember. I'm wondering if your CBEFM and your chart lined up? I'm getting a really good O on my chart and thinking the monitor would be overkill. It's so tempting because that thing seems to work magic.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
@oliviaoblivia: I was not charting, but I also O'ed 2 or 3 days later than what I had thought from the previous cycles so the montior helped with that-- GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU!!!!

I'm in! Although, with my body, that could be plus or minus a week. Grrr.

@Adira: Unfortunately I won't know anything until I get my first period post MC... which sucks because I am SOOOO impatient!!

@Alivoo01: POAS- Pee on a stick
I'm here. My next POAS is May 6th. I'm on month 6. Just a little frustrated... no, I lied. I'm frustrated. I spaced out my BDing and I got a positive OPK last month. I just don't know what I am doing wrong.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@bluestriped bee: I'm so sorry! I know that I'd feel the same thing in your shoes. I'm already frustrated and I'm only on month 4. I know that they say to try for a year before seeing someone, but maybe if cycle six doesn't work out for you, you could get some tests done? I'm thinking that that's what I'm going to do - I'm too impatient to wait. If there's some reason we're not getting pregnant, I want to know, you know?
Hopefully it doesn't come to that for either of us though. Hopefully month 6 is the charm for you. *hug*

Oh okay! I'm on this boat! O expected on May 4th and AF on May 17th.

@Adira: I know I shouldn't really complain. There's people out there who have been trying longer than 6 months. Some have been trying for years. It's just a crappy day. It's just one of those days. I'll bounce back to my happy self in a couple days.
I think I will go see the doctor soon. I think I'm up for my annual exam, anyway. Last year, I told my Gyn. that I was trying soon and she said 'Oh, the next time I'll see you, you will be pregnant.' :'/
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@bluestriped bee: OMG, my doctor said the SAME thing to me when I went to my last exam and told her we were going to start trying soon! UGH! That just makes it more stressful!! And regardless of how long you've been trying, we're all entitled to our bad days. Don't feel guilty for feeling the way you feel. I've been trying a shorter time than you, and I have crappy days too. Hopefully our crappy days will end soon...

I'm in!
I actually have very little right to be sooking or complain about not getting pregnant this month. This was only our second month. Lots of people struggle for a lot longer. Also, I know I am being greedy - we already have a LO - but we would like another. Our problem is that I am 40 so I don't have a year or two up my sleeve. I just have to keep telling myself that I got pregnant once, my body can do it again. And ladies, if an old duck like me can get pregnant than so can you!
So I am CD 3, looking at mid april being O time, beginning of may testing time ( literally!)
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@cupcakemama: haha, welcome!!! Sounds like a lot of us will be testing right around the same time. And I don't think you're greedy for wanting another LO! I definitely want two, so after we have one, I'll still want another! Good luck to you!
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@mrsjyw: your comments make me EXTREMELY tempted to buy the clearblue fertility monitor since I also have long cycles. I currently use those one time sticks, but those things are kind of hard to read sometimes.

I posted on the late April thread because I'm hoping that my cycle will be shorter this time around, but it'll most likely be early May. I'm CD12 today but didn't O till CD30 last cycle so I'm in a (long!) waiting period. I did O 5 days earlier then the cycle before so hoping for at least the same this time around!
I increased my acupuncture to 2x a week to see if that will bring on ovulation so fingers are crossed!

@arielle9510: Oh wow, that is a long cycle!! That must be frustrating! Hope that your O earlier this time around so it's not as long of a wait!
cherry / 220 posts
@Adira: Yes it's VERY frustrating and even more frustrating that when I went to they gyno yesterday she said I didn't need medication.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@arielle9510: I'm surprised your gyno wasn't more helpful than that. It sounds like your cycle is like 40+ days long? That seems really long... you'd think she'd suggest something. Did they run any tests to figure out why it was so long??
pomelo / 5228 posts
Yay, moving on. I think I'm at CD8 today, so planning to have a fun weekend My gyno also suggested coming in for a pre-conception appointment, so I might schedule that for next week.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Mrs.Someone: Yay! Welcome! Do you know how long your cycles last and/or when you're expecting to O? Hope you have a fruitful cycle! And yes, always a good idea to have a pre-conception appointment.
