@adria - I'm pretty much "by the book", and haven't been on BCP. Cycles are 28-29 days, O on CD14-15. And not sure if it means anything, but I'm a second-generation "oops baby" (grandmother had her tubes tied, parents were lazy one night).
I read TCOYF, but I've only been tracking AF and CM. I'm avoiding temping for a few months because I don't want to obsess over it.

@Mrs.Someone: hahaha, second generation oops baby, that's classic! You're lucky your cycles are so regular! So far mine have been pretty regular too, but I don't trust it, haha. I've been on BCP for 7 years and only off for 3 months now, so I'm sure it's still adjusting. Hope you have fun this weekend! Good luck on your BDing!

@adria - thanks! Hopefully you go back to regular soon. Have you read TCOYF? Definitely eye-opening.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Mrs.Someone: Yep! Have it on my nightstand. It's definitely a great book and really informed me a lot! I had nooooooo idea about the whole temp thing or CM, so it's definitely been helpful. No BFP for me yet, but I think I've upped my chances just by reading that book.

Hi all!!
I got AF in full force yesterday. Per the timeline I've figured out and Babycenter.com I'll be able to POAS around May 2nd.

@Crisark: Welcome to the thread! Are you charting at all? Just curious if you know when to expect your O day. Good luck to you!
pomegranate / 3398 posts
@Adira: I am not charting at all. I am just going with the flow for the next couple cycles. If it doesn't happen by June we will start using OPK's again.
I got too stressed at the thought of it. I just want to enjoy the process.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Crisark: Yeah, I know what you mean! I mostly just temp and I'm not super religious about what time I do it. I just take my temps in the morning, regardless of when I wake up. It's given me a good insight into when I ovulate, which is definitely helpful for me, but you should definitely enjoy TTC while you can!

@adira: She didn't seem too concerned by it (even though I was/am) and I asked her repeatedly if I needed to start medication. She didn't think at this point I should take meds. I'm going to give it a couple more cycles and if I don't see them regulating then I'm going to make another appointment. Probably with my general practitioner who seems more in tune with my concerns.
I didn't have any bloodwork done, but I did back in December and everything came back normal. Part of me wants to just relax and feel good that she didn't seem concerned and part of me wants to get a second opinion.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@arielle9510: Yeah, I know what you mean. I mean, I guess it's good she didn't seem concerned. Presumably because longer cycles are more common than we realize. Hopefully your cycles are still regulating and will get shorter! Maybe longer cycles are just normal for you (although that would be a bummer). Hopefully as long as you can figure out when you ovulate, you'll still have good luck TTCing. Good luck!

Hi everyone! AF came today, so I'm joining the May group! We're starting cycle 7, but it'll only be my 3rd month of actually charting. But so far, my cycles have been 30 days with O on day 17. So I should O on 4/22, AF on 5/6, POAS....probably 5/4, ha ha! I'm getting frustrated, sad, and impatient! Ugh. I seriously had no idea it would take me this long.
cherry / 220 posts
@adira: Yes I've been temping and charting so I do know that I O and have been O-ing consistently sooner cycle to cycle so that's good I guess! I'm hoping long cycles aren't normal for me! I'm feeling positive that they'll continue to get shorter. Thanks!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@eiko2010: Hopefully this is the LAST of these threads you have to join! Good luck!
@arielle9510: At least they are getting shorter! Hopefully you'll just hurry up and get pregnant and not have to worry about it anymore.

@Adira: @oliviaoblivia: Thanks! Hopefully this is all of our last cycles!

Ok, I'm finally feeling better about my last BFN. Maybe a Dec baby just wasn't meant to be. It took a few days to get out of that funk. I'm going to start charting again. Going to schedule an appt with the dr since my annual is due this month. Ask her some questions and maybe see if she will run some simple tests.

Just popping in to keep this thread alive, haha. I'm CD 10 today. Thinking I'm going to ovulate sometime next week, so this weekend is when Hubs and I are going to start trying this weekend. Hoping to do it every day this time around. I soooooo want to get pregnant this month!

Just checking in! I'm on CD 8 today and am not taking any chances with this cycle so we are BD'ing no less than every other day the next two weeks or so lol .
DH is totally ok with that schedule.

@Adira: @Crisark: I'm at CD9 just between you guys! Expecting O next Tuesday or Wednesday.
I've found that I've been stalling our time in the bedroom the past few days because I know in just a few days we'll need the extra energy. So silly.
We are going to try the SMEP this time.

I am 2 dpo...so probably about 10 days until I POAS...oh who am I kidding, I'll proabbly start in 8 days :o) Baby dust to everyone!
Edit: And I just realized that this is POAS early May...oops! I'll be more like late April.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Crisark: I believe it's Sperm-Meets-Egg Plan. I'm not sure of the details of how it works though.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@oliviaoblivia: I'm the same way. I know that Hubs and I will be pretty busy during my "fertile window" so I tend not to be super interested before and after, haha. I need to get better about that though... Hubs is starting to feel used.
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
I'm on CD 9. I have my annual exam next week where I'm going to ask the Dr some more questions. I'll be BDing next week and O is expected on the 22nd.
pineapple / 12793 posts
@Adira: Same with my DH. He is aware of the plan, but really has no idea what is going on. When AF showed last month, he asked if we should do IVF. Because if I didn't get KU the first month we 'tried' that something must be wrong. What a weirdo.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@bluestriped bee: I hope your exam is helpful and you get some information!
@oliviaoblivia: haha, that's funny! My husband isn't in a huge rush to get pregnant, so he doesn't seem to mind that it's been taking us a few months. Plus last month, during my fertile window, I was SUPER in the mood, so he LOVED that. I think he's hoping that continues for a while, haha. At the beginning of this cycle though, I figured out when my fertile window would be in order to give him the heads-up. I was all "Uhh, just an FYI, we're having sex everyday for seven-ish days starting on the 14th." His response: "Okay!" Men!
pineapple / 12793 posts
@Adira: It took DH six months to decide he was "ready" to be a father. And now he's like "game-on." He keeps saying stuff like - wouldn't it be great if we had our baby right now, which makes me frustrated because I was ready sooooo long ago.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@oliviaoblivia: haha, I don't think my husband is ready yet, haha. He keeps saying stuff like "Wouldn't it be nice if instead of having a baby, we went on a trip to ______?" And I always respond with "Let's have a baby and we can still go to _____." haha. Even though he seems kind of not ready, he's still willing to get busy during my fertile window, so hopefully he gets more excited about the whole thing eventually (maybe when I'm actually pregnant?). I think it's probably normal for men to take longer than women to be "ready."

I'm expecting O tomorrow or so! BD on Monday (we were too tired Sunday!) Then again tonight and probably tomorrow night. The original plan was every other day, but Sunday just didn't happen.
Tomorrow I have a "pre-conception" appointment with my OBGYN, since she suggested it. By "pre" I hope that just means a few hours before the actual conception

@oliviaoblivia: Thanks!!! That's great info!
I'm not using the OPK's this month just because it stressed me out before. So, we are just doing the every other day plan and hoping it works lol

cd 9 today. I have been really sick the last week so I imagine this month is probably already out. :(. We'll still do the deed though. Lol.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
CD 15 today! Expecting O any day now! I've already messed up my plans though. Hubs and I were supposed to start doing the deed on Friday night and continue every day until I ovulate, but we started late (yesterday). Hopefully we'll keep it up though and if I don't ovulate for a couple days, I'll still be good.
Good luck to everyone!

@Jumpingjacks: AF just started for me today, moving on! I'll be POAS May 14th
pomegranate / 3398 posts
Calendar day 13 for me! We've been BD'ing every day to every other day since CD 7 and will continue that schedule until probably Friday which would be CD 17.
We aren't using OPK's so we are just going heavy during what would be the "normal" O time frames and hoping for the best
pineapple / 12793 posts
I'm CD14 and expecting O tomorrow. We were suppose to do SMEP but have BD every day since Friday. Whoops. Hope it works.
Fingers crossed for us ladies.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@oliviaoblivia: Nothing wrong with over-doing the BDing I don't think. Sounds like you're doing MY plan, haha, jealous! I hope it works for you!!
pineapple / 12793 posts
@Adira: We're probably just wasting energy and sperm. At least it's fun!
