...coming for a first visit? We just moved to London and our GP organised for a health visitor to visit us this week (me and my 3 month old). We don't have this at all in SA where I'm from so just wondered if anyone can tell me what happens at the visit? Feeling kind of irrationally nervous for some reason, ugh.

Most HV are lovely. They will come and see if you need help with BFing or anything and then likely tell you about the HV clinics that they run at the local GPs. Most of them are drop in services that you can go whenever and have your baby weighed and discuss anything in relation to the baby (questions an concerns). They might talk to you about vaccinations but thats about it really.
My HVs were all super sweet. I am sure it will all go fine.

Mine was fine. Nice. Though I quickly realized that there wasn't anything she could tell me that I found helpful. She realized we knew what we were doing and left us alone. Don't worry!

Sure thing. I suspect a big part of their job is to flag up people who need more help/intervention. Don't stress and take any guidance with grain of salt. I found they didn't always have the most current info.
